I spotted this on headforpoints. I dont tend to stay at GHA hotels but some AFFers do and its potentially good value. Its a Black Friday thing so offer ends Sunday UK time I believe.

Hi all,
I did this, last month. Signed up for the UK Digital Edition, simply used my AU address.
Too easy.
After the subscription is confirmed, there’s an extra step to request the GHA Plat status. All done by email, nothing too difficult. The only surprise was that I received a new GHA account rather than an upgrade to my existing account.

Thanks so much. I ended up signing up for the Asia Pacific edition and when you sign in I found the link the request the status. That was a few weeks ago and I haven't heard anything - how long did it take for you until you got the platinum?

Hi Mark,
from memory... I sent the email off in the evening and had a response by the time I woke up the next day. I was surprised how quickly the response came.
