I'm planning a trip to Washington with my meeting close by Regan National (DCA). When I search on qantas.com for the dates I want, all of the options are for arrival into Baltimore (BWI) or Dulles (IAD).

Is there a way to have the QF booking engine present me with the DCA options?

I tried the sort options but these did not present any DCA options. Expertflyer shows possible AA flights to LAX-DCA.

Hi Alby,
The QF booking engine shows several options to DCA via DFW.

I did this very trip in Nov 2013 (but in 2012 I used QF codeshares all the way).

I deliberately chose, in 2013, to have QF & AA as two separate PNRs: more flights to choose from (5:1 from memory) and more SCs (F rather than J rating for the same seats).

Will do the same later this year.

No problem at all with baggage, BPs etc....

Thanks for the ideas. My issue at the moment is just trying to work out how to get the booking engine to display the flights into DCA without displaying all of the BWi & IAD options.

So for the dates I search BNE-DCA - 12 Apr ret 16 Apr, no flights into DCA are displayed.

May be a job for a travel agent.

Serfty are you entering as multi-city?

When I search I only get the 10:25 departure out of Brisbane direct to LAX then offered combinations of the BWI & IAD connections. (Lax isn't important for me.)

I tried to replicate your Melbourne searches and only offered departures up to about 11am, not getting to the 1300 departure combination to DCA.

I couldn't see an option to choose Morning, Afternoon or Evening like on previous versions of the website.

I'll try doing it as a multi-city from the start of the process and see if I get more combinations.

Thanks for looking.

Not multi city - used the link I included in post #9 to search (also typed in DCA for destination).

If you search multicity from BNE you will get options through SYD. None involve LAX as far as I can see.

Thanks Serfty & Princess Fiona. Managed to continue and play with a few things to finish with a 7 sector itin BNE-LAX-DFW-DCA DCA-DFW-LAX-SYD-BNE for less than the 4 sector BNE-LAX-DCA-DFW-BNE. Makes for about 30k pts instead of ~23k. Also makes for more SC which I'm maximising to fit with a double SC offer.

Just waiting for the go ahead form client now.

With all of this bouncing around on this one I'm thinking of taking up the Admirals Club 30 day pass for $99. (I expect to reach QF Gold by the end of April.)

Do you know if I buy it online prior to departure I can use it at the 'partner' lounge ie BNE INT QP on the way out and SYD DOM QP on the return?

Looking forward to this one.

Yes you should be able to use it at the QP.
Enjoy :)

Remember, even though that page has pass in the title, the 30 day thing is a membership.

FWIW, you don't have to be specifically flying to access an AC- you just need to be physically able to access the (mainly airside) lounges. More here:http://www.australianfrequentflyer....aadvantage/ac-30-day-membership-qf-37926.html
