Though a strong rumour going around that a politician's parents were on the Ruby Princess.

Dan Andrews: Vic Premier

We're asking a lot of Victorians right now – and I want to thank you all for your patience and willingness to get on board with these changes.

I know people have a lot of questions about what is and isn't allowed. I'll do my best to answer them.

But the main point I want to make is this:
The aim of Stage 3 restrictions is to limit the physical contact we have with each other.

To slow the spread of coronavirus and to save lives.
And it requires all of us to listen to the advice, follow the rules – and use a bit of common sense.

What we don't need is people looking for loopholes so they can keep doing whatever they want and carrying on as normal.
If you don't absolutely have to go somewhere or see someone or buy something – don't.

Stay at home.

Treat it as a matter of life or death.
Because it is.

If you can give them an outside run and it sounds like you have good neighbours then once the cat is settled it would be OK for people to feed for a few days and if you were away longer then they can go to a cattery. It's going to be hard to get one at the moment because everyone is just snapping them up

I'm in a semi-rural area and the neighbourhood is rather anti-cat-being-outside. I am too, so it would be an 'inside cat', which I've only just become aware is normal and considered OK. An enclosed outside run might be possible.

I friend has an outside run at her house, its connected to a window and the cat seems to enjoy it.

Reading some US forums/news, are the CDD now advocating non sick people wearing masks?
Quite a few authorities in the USA are now advocating using masks or even scarves. Non medical grade though - medical grade are needed for front line health workers and given the info I am getting from Dr FM re rationing of protective masks for staff in hospitals in London, I hope this is adhered to

At Coles this morning, I heard two loud coughs from two different gentlemen. Shouldn't they be muffled coughs??? *sigh*

It makes sense to ensure people wear something to cover up their mouths and noses - not to protect themselves but everyone else.

I have been listening to the questions asked by reporters (after PM and Premier updates) and also posted in social media, and I really think many people are choosing to find the rules confusing as they don’t want to be inconvenienced, the intent of the rules seem straightforward to me,

Using of masks when you are potentially ill is advised in order to protect other people. There does seem to be new research coming through that the infected droplets can travel further than first thought. This is the problem with something so new, information is changing as understanding changes.

Yes, that's why these have been worn in many Asian countries (eg Japan) when the wearer has an infection. That has been extended now to presume everyone has an infection so everyone should wear them. For others sake, not theirs.

I keep reading where face masks are in very short supply, and should be prioritised to healthcare workers, and cases where many people can't get them (because they didn't stockpile). Although some are being made from panty-liners (as a cottage industry?)

Edit:
