For those who I'm not connected with on Facebook I thought you may or may not be interested in a short TR I published on my fanpage along with a handful of photos after my recent experience flying 1A on the A380 from SYD-LAX.

I know many of you have flown in F so may not find it at all interesting but some of you are still like I was, aspiring to tick it off the bucket list so gives you a bit of a preview of coming attractions.

I'm sure it's a great report but unless you have a facebook account you can't read it. :(

Congratulations. You look pretty chuffed sitting in 1A. :)

Is it tough to get 1A on QF flights generally as an award redemption ?
Or do you have to be WP/P1 ?

I didn't find it hard.

I'm a SG and got confirmed 36 hours out and 1A was still sitting unallocated so I took it.

Quite a number of people don't like 1A on the A380, because they say it's too close to the stairs and has too much passing traffic, so it seems to be still available quite often.

I'm not sure about what effect the stairs would have on passing traffic, I didnt notice anyone going up to use the lounge upstairs and there wouldn't be any coming downstairs, so the only real traffic is the odd person going to the toilet which didn't bother me.

I know another client has told me he didn't like 1A because of toilet flush noise but I never noticed it so much be a heavier sleeper.

As they say there's no bad seat in First Class (although the window are definitely 'better'), but I liked 1A and would go for it again.
