Who wants to be a WP with VA. Over the past couple of years I have given away VA SG companion status but not WP so this is a first. I have no one to give it to, MrsM has the QF complementary WP and does not need or want this one.

I have called the VA CC and they confirmed I am good to go. Like most of my "free stuff" posts there are a couple of conditions, being:
  • AFF member for at least 3 months,
  • At least 25 posts,
  • a picture of your favourite travel destination (picture must be yours, i.e not pinched/ borrowed from the web)
I would prefer to give this to someone who will get some use out of it, if selected, you will need to provide me with your name and VA FF number, I need to give your details to VA. If you are not comfortable providing this detail don’t throw your hat in the ring.

I will leave the thread open for a while and when I think there is enough responses or pictures a decision will be made. As per other 'free stuff' posts I will ask MissM and MissM to agree on which response they like the best and that will be the winner. Simple.

All the best.

Edit: I have been informed by VA that companion platinum is just like normal platinum that being if you do not maintain you will fall back to gold so you will get a couple of years as either WP or SG.

Matt, this is very generous; I will throw my hat in the ring.

With VA the only airline giving QF any competition into Alice Springs I try to support them whenever possible. It’s fair to say VA WP would make the ASP-ADL-MEL-LST commute somewhat more enjoyable - and allow Master & Ms FD to experience The Lounge.

Here’s my favourite destination, seen from c. 23000 feet.
It’s warm there this time of year, as AFF Warks will attest, but always spectacular:

What a very generous offer Matt_01. My favourite place is definitely Australia, especially on days like Pink Stumps Day in junior cricket;

I have no status with Virgin but this year have 2 return trips booked to Japan from Sydney (via Brisbane) with the youngest cygnet plus trips to Perth and Singapore with VA. All these trips are unfortunately in Y. Hopefully I will also add the odd trip to Melbourne for the AFL. It would be great to have lounge access and a somewhat better choice of seats.

Nice offer...I will reach Va Plat after my next 2 domestic flights so just wanted to say it is a very generous offer!

Hi Matt
A very generous offer, nice of you to do so. My favorite destination is a villa we went to on our honeymoon in 2019. A quiet hilltop place in Kamala, coughet. In the morning the call to prayer echoes out across the valley and its lovely.
I will definitely get use out of the membership, as will my wife when she travels with me. Travel quite a bit with VA but not quite enough to get gold..

Wow! what a generous offer and good luck to all :)

After years of flying EMD-BNE-NTL-BNE-EMD on Dash 8's (not the easiset way to maintain SG) I've just started giving VA a go. Funnily enough it's because Qantas cancelled 3 flights in a 4 week period and booked me on VA. From EMD they use the Alliance Fokker70 and from BNE-NTL-BNE B738. I'm only VA Red (65 SC's) can provide number if required. My fave place is probably South Africa. Would have first opportunity to use in around 4 weeks BNE-AKL and then on going. Cheers 🥂

will stick my hand up this year please , Matt :D
so much more domestic travel coming up calendar year 2020/2021 for me so it would be a great help.

My pic, taken back in 2003 on a beach in Goa, India... setting sun
Bit fuzzy as we were still on a moving train from Bombay to Goa

I took a couple of my first cousins on an all expenses paid boys trip before we graduated from uni & entered the big bad world.
I used to work part time at Myer while studying, and went back to India for holidays in Jan/Feb to visit the relos & my cousins who I grew up with.
Spur of the moment we decided to goto Goa & live it up.
To this day (now all in our late 30s/early 40s) we still reminisce about this trip.

I would be very happy to jump the dizzying heights up from Red! I once was silver for 3 months, but that was years ago ... I travel on points. Many thanks Matt(s) for the consideration.

At sunrise I did a balloon ride over Goreme, Turkey when the sun was almost eclipsed by another balloon.

No shortage of balloons, they all go up around the same time and there were no accidents. These guys are good:

When we landed the pilot was such an expert that he was able to land the basket straight onto a small trailer. Very efficient.

Very generous of you.
Last month I gifted VA Gold to my son who has recently moved to PER. He's already used a lot of it's benefits including guesting his mate into lounges on a ski trip to Canada.

It's a terrific benefit an well thought out by VA as my son will now fly almost exclusively with Virgin and is planning to requalify for gold in his own right!
