Help please? I wish to fly out of Marrakech (using OW award) but explore around Tangier. There is no One World airline that I can do this with (Marrakech/Tangier), SO am looking at flying Marrakech to somewhere close in Spain (then overland) back to Tangier. I know it's a lot to ask but does anyone have knowledge of One World airline from Marrakech to Spanish city (close to Tangier). OR any other option using this award? Thanks in advance! Apologies if confusing......

Iberia fly out of Marrakech but they only fly to Madrid.
They operate flights from Madrid to Tangiers but through subsidiaries (Air Nostrum direct and Vuelling via Barcelona).
Air Nostrum is an affilliate airline with OneWorld so you may be able to fly with them. Vuelling is not.
There is a sleeper train from Marrakech to Tangier - but you may not want to try that!
Alternatively Royal Air Maroc is joining OneWorld and should be integrated in mid 2020.
Obviously this would become easy after that!

As above, Royal Air Maroc joins OW next year - not sure if that suits your timeline? The trains are good in Morocco (the French influence) - I’d check them as the first alternative. We flew from Marrakech to Malaga (Spain) cheaply on Vueling (they were good for a LCC - make sure you check your luggage allowance). I’m sure you could get a bus down towards the ferries that cross the straits to Tangier, plenty of day tours advertised. We took a bus to Seville which took about 2 hours and was around $20 euro each. I can highly recommend Gibraltar if you take the route to Malaga then down toward Tangier

Thanks so much for that input. (Travelling Feb/Mar 2020 so unfortunately Royal Air Maroc not an option.) Yes, was thinking Iberia, thanks for confirming it only goes to Madrid (will look at Air Nostrum). Also investigate train. Much appreciated.

Thanks very much, yes overnight train sounds good. Then, so does the Malaga alternative. Helpful to know buses (Seville) are available for reasonable price. Food for thought, grateful for your insight!

personally I'd just by the fare. RAK-TNG on Air Arabia Maroc is AUD40 (presumably extra for bags and stuff).
Didn't realise flights were so reasonable (in that case no problem if not inc in award fare) Will definitely investigate that option. Thanks so much!

You can use google flights (RAK-TGN) for the range of flights and prices. I'd book directly with Air Arabia.

Also you could book with Royal Air Maroc, open a loyalty account with them to accrue the points, then see if you can do something with the points when they join Oneworld next year.

That could be an option... but the distance is around 300 miles. The difference in fare between Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia is around $100 (and the RAM flight takes almost 4 hours longer with two stops). It might not be a value proposition.

There is a one stop option with RAM but it is still more expensive.

Thanks. If flying I will probably use Air Arabia. (Your info very helpful)!

I just booked a OW Award yesterday which incorporated Marrakech. I found that the only OW non-stop options to fly in/out of Marrakech (RAK) are (i) Madrid (MAD) with IB, (ii) London (both LHR and LGW) with BA, and (iii) Doha (DOH) with QR.
Checkout the 'One World Maproutes' at "onw.innosked.com" utilising the 'connections' tick-box for further connections to other cities beyond MAD, LON, and DOH.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thankyou that's great. I've been trying to find something that gives the One World options (with no luck). With your info, it helps very much knowing what my actual options are!

I looked at the one world routes web site I quoted above. Flights non-stop from TNG with OW are only from MAD.
The only possible flights for you that I see are;
(i) RAK-MAD, Daily, IB3341, 1 flight/day at various times, arriving MAD between 14:55 and 23:05. Then
(ii) MAD-TNG, Daily IB8374, Iberia operated by Air Nostrum, departing MAD at 11:35am.
That is you can't do a same day connection RAK-MAD-TNG but as the departing time is 11:35, you can do an overnight connection in MAD, and it will count as a transit in MAD as the arriving/departing time difference is <24h.
