This is mostly a curiousity question, prompted by me being soon to fly to LAX and back with some fussy eaters (adults).

If you don’t care for any of the mains in the Business Class Menu, can you ask for a meal from a lower cabin class? If yes, does anyone have any experience in doing so?

Mrsdrron has done it a couple of times successfully. They will tell you it depends if any Y meals left.

Ive done it. FA tried her best to plate it nicely, still looked like a bit of a dog's breakfast but at least it was something I could eat.

You can also take something on board, if you want.

You can. But as drron points out it depends on availability. You get last dibs, not first. Which airline? Qantas will show you the menu options in advance to pre-order. If you don't like anything you could request a special mean.

A typo no doubt, but sometimes when you request a non-standard meal, mean is exactly how it’s presented! ;)

In this case, it’s VA. It’s my father in law and husband who I’m wondering about. Mr Ralphie usually finds something to eat, well to push around on his plate, but he keeps commenting how he much prefers the simplicity of the lower cabin menus.

Completely understandable that it’s last dibs, someone in economy shouldn’t miss out over a fussy eater in business.

Yep. I once paid for wifi on a SQ flight so I could google what was on the menu.

There was a post about a Luke Mangan "deconstructed sausage" served in J. Mince meat! It was mince meat but lets call it "deconstructed" to make the foodies feel better.
