So around 15 months ago I decided I needed to get healthy, too many of us enjoy our lifestyle without monitoring our health. Nothing extensive but I use my lunchtime to walk, usually 100 klm per month. Recently turned 59, lost 6k last year at the same weigh as 21. How do you keep up with life challenges.

For about 7 years I have been Ultra Low carb (i.e zero carbs) during the daylight hours. I start the day with a shake containing a half scoop of protein and mct oil, then fast until mid afternoon, broken by a small snack high in fat (avocado, bacon and cheese ball), then I wait until dinner and eat anything I want until my heart is content.
Exercisewise - I do Vinyasa flow/Ashtanga Yoga daily, swim in the ocean and lift a few weights for the "beach muscles".

Whilst abroad, with few ultra low carb options, I usually fast all day.
Exercisewise - I walk at a good speed and cover long distances. This keeps me very lean.

I took up marathon running at age 30. Managed an ultramarathon last year - the training is where the real benefit is, not the race itself. Still 3 kg under my age 21 weight.

We walk 7 days a week, around 7km a day at a fast pace. Since we moved about 12 months ago we have added 500 steps a day into the middle of the walk-means I don't worry so much about having a few beers each night.

I've recently started doing the 7minute workout (more like 9mins) using the app and have found it useful for me because I didnt do any exercise at all and find it hard to make an excuse for myself to not do an exercise that only took <10mins.

I keep fit by taking up martial arts. It's great to be able to hit a bag after a long flight (especially with the delays ;)). On the road, I basically make up my own workouts based on the sometimes VERY limited equipment in the hotel gyms. Fortunately the hotel in LAX has a decent gym with a couple of weights to throw around.

Two weeks before my dad died of bowel cancer, he expressed concern at my weight. I promised him I would lose it.
Two years later and I am down 48kg and am back at my footy playing weight of my mid-20s.

Work keeps me on my toes, doing about 16km's per day I work :p Trying to get back into the gym on my off days, but had a bout of injuries.... Started up boxing classes again but need to get back to doing weights. One thing at the time so slow and steady at the moment :)

That's what I did too, except I started in my 40s

I love running overseas, it's a great way to get out and about when away for work.

I wish I was under my 21 weight! But close

I have no idea what my weight was at 21 but what I can tell you is I am absolutely fitter than I was 24 years ago... I am stronger more toned than I was then... In my 20's and 30's was hard years of drinking and living on cough food and party a little bit too much...

I am now a early riser so OMG flights don't worry me anymore... I have had a OMG flight time and I have went to the gym before the flight... SWMBO can not believe the differences in me..

I also love going for a run when on holidays. Allows you to see street life up close and personal and you get to find all these hidden parks and gardens that you would normally not see.

How's this for an unusual one: I've been doing figure skating since I was a kid. After some years of on/off and laziness during my teens, I've really committed myself to it over the past 6-7 years. For the most part, I've kept up 1-2 intense practices per week, and stretches at home on days when I don't have time to hit the rink. I'll never be an Olympic level skater or anything haha but it's a top-notch workout!

My skates always travel with me, because I love trying different rinks around the world - indoors, outdoors, in parks, in malls, in front of famous monuments (most recently, the Bean in Chicago), everywhere. It's such a great way to get immersed in local life and it has certainly proven to be a great conversation-starter with locals. Sometimes they'll approach me for a chat if they see me practising moves, or I'll approach other local figure skaters to chat, etc. I've certainly made some new friends overseas this way! I once even spontaneously gave a lesson while skating on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, after all the local kids at the rink started following me around and asking me to teach them. Great memories. :)

I lost 15kgs last year from April-August and felt great. Then with the birth of my daughter I have travelled more and have put back on 11kgs.

Trying to lose weight again but not so easy this time. The motivation is not there.

Well you've shown yourself you know how to lose weight! So you know you can do it again! Believe me, I have been there myself. The biggest hurdle for me when I fall off the wagon is to re think and reset my goals to smaller ones! Things like ok, this week I'm only going to get to the gym twice. Getting to the gym is half the battle for me! But I feel so good afterwards.

You could also do the same thing with nutrition, maybe limit your sweet intake. Slowly switch the full fat chocolate for a higher percentage of cocoa. I have chocolate everyday, but it's 70% minimum cocoa (and only 2 squares at that). Now when I have something sweet, it is actually too sweet for me and I don't want to finish it.

We're all behind you, and if not for us, then definitely for yourself and your new family! You got this.

I have taken up eating the 85% cocoa dark chocolate from a well-known Swiss chocolate maker. I don't really enjoy the taste but my theory is that 2 squares keep me from being tempted by anything else. And it is meant to be full of anti-oxidants.
