First Tiger flts, CBR -MEL - CBR. Any suggestions,? Especially re carry on/hand bag

Any recent suggestions plse. Also, wondering if I have to stash small heavy things in all my pockets if the handbag gets weighed?

I flew Tiger in February. Carry on only. They are Ok. Expect and plan for delays.

I flew Tiger from CBR to MEL a couple of weeks ago. The flight ran a little bit late but was otherwise fine.

I checked in online and printed the BP at home, and was HLO so didn't have to worry about queueing up to check in a bag. My carry-on was not weighed in CBR, but they probably will weigh it at the gate (or at least select some random people to have their bags weighed) in MEL when you return.

I suggest paying for an up-front seat to ensure you don't get a middle seat and because, due to the $7 fee, very few people actually pay for these (meaning you'll likely get a shadow).

Thanks Mattg, can I pay for a seat retrospectively? I noticed they also had a 'board early' option for $3, presumably to get bin space. I'm not too worried, it's only a 1 hour and a bit flt. I'm used to not getting much arm rest space in Y.

They certainly did not weigh my laptop bag which at times can be >7 kgs with heavy laptop inside.

Yes you can pay to pick a seat any time.

I wouldn't personally bother with the $3 for pre-boarding.

The experience was mixed. CBR-MEL left on time, had 3 seats to myself. On the return pull back a fault occurred and we returned to the gate and disembarked. All sat around on the hard floor as there are few seats. The elderly had to stand due to their poor flexibility. New gate announced numerous times confusing everyone including those waiting for others flights already at 'their' gate. Finally, we took the ADL bound plane and they took our now fixed one. Delay of > 2hours.

Not going Tiger again unless it's cheaper than $10.
