New York isn't listed but BKK/JFK return is just under $3000 AUD as well.

any reviews on finnair?? I'm really interested to buy for next april travel..
bkk-sto-cph-bkk.. and it can earn qantas sc as well...

thanks for the reply @Mattg, i will be travelling with my 2 brothers, and I'm willing to pay for Biz class outright, but not my brothers :-(
do you know if the Norra air will get qantas SC as well ?? since i am planning to fly from BKK to (either BMA or ARN) and on return trip from CPH-xHEL-BKK...

I don't know for sure having never flown them, but I'm pretty sure you would earn QF SCs on Norra Air as it's a Finnair subsidiary and the flights appear to have AY flight numbers.

thanks again for your prompt reply @Mattg...
the hard part now is convincing my siblings to purchase J outright :)

I am seriously looking at this. Does anyone know if the discounted Business fare on AY earns Business SCs with QFF or just Flexible Economy SCs? I tried to find the fare bucket on the Finnair website but couldnt find it anywhere, it just says Business Promotional.

if I'm not wrong, for business class, it will be earning Business SC.. so a return trip from BKK, at least 400SC..

I flew BKK-HEL-CPH-HEL-BKK earlier this year in AY business promo (I class) and it earned 360 QF SC's in total.

@clifford, whats your take on the AY J class ?? izzit a fully flat bed seat ??

Yes, it's fully flat in a 1-2-1 configuration, quite comfy really. The on board service was OK without being outstanding, and I thought the meal choices were a little limited.

Also, the lounges in HEL tend to be quite crowded and have a limited range of food/drink, but for the price I'd definitely do the trip again on AY. The fare to Dublin looks particularly attractive, pity I'm booked up to the end of June next year.

thanks for your 'quick review' on the AY J product..

I've done AY J twice to Europe ex Bkk over the last few years. They are good value and have good connections through HEL to most places in Europe.

I didn't look it up, but if J is on sale, and Y is not, that may make a difference. Helsinki is a lovely place in summer. I can recommend a hotel with free bikes to tootle around for a day.
