Hi all,

I know some of you use ExpertFlyer a fair bit. Considering stumping up the fee to check availability of award seats for an upcoming OWE J trip.

Noticed they don't seem to show/have access to award availability for both QR and CX (at least according to ExpertFlyer.com). Can anyone confirm this?

If that is indeed correct, are there other sites (paid or free) that will show availability of award seats for all OW carriers? I'm sort of aware that you can see availability of you sign up for other carrier FF programs, but I'd rather it all in one place if possible.

Thanks

Just to be clear, a OWE (OneWorld Explorer) is a paid RTW fare. Business class books into D, a non-reward fare bucket.

I have an EF subscription if you want to PM me a few testers to run.

Thanks JohnM. I'll shoot you an email in a bit.

And oooops. Meant OW award. Pfft to paying (directly) for flights :)

True enough - but a paid DorAONEx offers very good value, flexibility and considerable benefits that come home to roost when utilising awards. The total averaged cost of a year's travel comes down, while the benefits and their utilisation go up .

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks. This looks like it will do the trick. Will have a play around with it a little later.

The most powerful Tool for Frequent Flyers since 2004.

The UI looks like it was designed in the late 90's and not updated since though :( But if it does the trick and usable, then I'll be happy.

When I was planning my 280k award I found BA's search engine to be one of the easier ones to use and find the flights across a variety of OW carriers.

So its possible to search using BA's tool even if you have zero points in your account with them?

Yes. You'll get access immediately on signing up. As an aside - sometimes the tool isn't great with multi-sector flight searches - prob best to search one at a time.

And it also shows lots of phantom availability (especially for CX).

Looking at QF on line SYD - HKG - EWR/JFK on CX J return in May. There are a lot of options, but is it possible to stopover in HKG? If not, how to try to get 23 hours there bkg on line?

The only available reward flights are CX, do they cost more than QF flights as it seemed to be about 50K more points than last time I did a JFK run?

There is a surcharge for using a whole raft of OW and partner airlines - the levels are indicated on the QF award charts. Emirates, AA and QF are all the same level (plus a couple of other partners), then the higher level applies to everyone else.
