Although it has not yet credited on my QFF account my latest CX flight HKG-SIN in business class has taken me over the qualification required for Lifetime Silver status.

It has taken just over 7 years (May 31 reassessement) and has probably happened a lot quicker than I would have expected when I first joined QFF and then AFF. Would be interesting to see if I can get to Lifetime Gold in the next 5 years.

Thanks to all on AFF for your helpful advice over the years.

Congrats. Enjoy the letter when it arrives, and the Silver card with no expiry date should you drop back to Silver level (or below).

So less than 7 years until LTG? ;)

Congratulations John.
Are you able to estimate how many flights its taken. Would be interesting.

Well done JohnK!

At 7 years for 7000 SC, that comes to 1000 SC per year. That's not even quite WP requalification every year, but you've made it.

It does mean if you keep at WP for here on in, LTG will be in the bag a bit shorter than 7 years.

Congratulations JohnK!

In discount economy? Heaps of flights.

In response to Max_1's question, if JohnK's flight profile was similar to mine (mainly OS with a few stops along the way) over the past 12 months I've earned 1,010 SC's over 41 flights (total BIS miles 98,724) all discount economy.

By my reckoning LTS would be approx 280 ~ 300 discount economy flights.

Well done John, another more exclusive club as we all climb upwards and onwards!!!

I got there a few years ago, I didnt get a silver card though. The best thing about it is the J checkin.

I am over half way to LTG in approx 2.5years, always remain SC conscience.

For example I bought a flexi saver and needed to change it, for an extra $150 i got the lowest bucket of fully flexible Y and doubled my SC's and halved the cost of upgrades for only a liitle more.

Cheers and well done

Congratulations JohnK.

Mere mortals such as myself can only look on in admiration and wonderment at the hours spent on QF.

As the others have said, John - congratulations!

Have a shy less than 90% of the SCs needed for Lifetime Silver - maybe by the end of January 2011 I'll be in the same condition as you - and boy, did double SC help! (that is, when the bonus points for one sector finally get credited).

Thanks for all the well wishes guys.

Even though I have done the cheap tag flights in SE Asia and YUPs in the USA the majority of my SCs have come in discount economy in Australia. In fact the last 2 years commuting SYD-BNE (purchasing my own airfares) has seen ~140 flights.

By my reckoning LTS would be approx 280 ~ 300 discount economy flights.
I think closer to 400 flights. When I get back home I will try to work out how many flights I have had to get there.

Congratulations to you as well Bill. Somehow I think you will win that race with all the money and time on your hands.

Loooong way to go!
From memory my first 2 years yielded exactly 650 SCs. Then Gold for one year and Platinum for 4 years. Time flies and along the way you have fun and get to meet some very interesting people who end up becoming friends.

Just as an example it means a lot to me to land in LHR with my father and have 5 hours between flights and have a friend from Australia (Who I met on AFF) greeting me at the airport, having a coffee and a general chit chat for a couple of hours.

Well done John, its a significant achievement when most of the travel is self funded!

How do you get to 584 when it goes up in multiples of 5?

When they introduced WP and other "enhancements" there was a pro-rata calc done for past travel, 1998 I think, this is my status:
