Hello everyone,

This is probably a silly question but just can't figure it out myself.

Its in reference to the bonus points that are earned my silver, gold & platinum members when flying on a VA service.

Ive just returned from europe, all on VA ticket, VA metal to AUH and EY to europe.
I am a platinum member
I'll just use one of the flights as an example,

SYD-AUH in O class (premium economy) 7506 miles.
9382 velocity points.
However the bonus points applied were only 7506.

Can someone explain why this is?
I know the site says "^Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned for an eligible activity or transaction by a Red member."
However can't work out why my bonus points did not match the base points earnt?

Thanks!

Tier bonus points are based on the number of miles flown, not the number of base points earned.

So the base points for this flight was 7,506. As you were in PE (class O) the rate is multiplied by 1.25 = 9,382. As WP, you get 100% bonus on base points = 7,506.

thanks robd and notzac for clarifying that. I knew it would be something simple like that to understand.
Cheers guys

Just following up on this thread, based on the same trip to Europe, I am investigating the posting of points/sc's in the following situation..
I was on a VA ticket, EY metal, O-class fare (Y+) but given EY has no Y+ travelled in Y.
Do the status credits and points post as premium economy category as fare was purchased in this class or do they post as something else?
thanks.

The points and SC for the sector travelled in Y (due to no Y+ category seating) will earn at the full economy fare rate.
If you look at the ticketed class fare for that specific sector it will show a different class from the sector that was flown as Y+
