Hi All,

Have an upcoming flight on Qatar (QR) OW, It is a mixed class ticket with one leg in F (A)Booking class and one leg in J (I) Booking class. Now the thing that has puzzled me is that on the ticket it mentions the booking class for each leg but also a fare basis for the entire ticket which is 'IEExx_'.

Should my SC's post as 'A' & 'I' (this is my belief) or will they both post as 'I' due to the fare basis?

As this is the first time I've encountered a mixed class booking I thought I would ask as it may well make me short of SC's to retain WP if it doesn't post as first 'A'.

Thanks!!

Hi cmon005,

Not for a couple of years now (and obviously not QR) but previously on a mixed class ticket, my "earn" was per sector and class booked (no idea what the fare basis was, though). So, IMHO you should earn A & I for that trip - in the same way that the distance-earn is calculated separately for separate flights, so should the class-earn.

YMMV.

Regards,

BD

If you did find that you're only credited with I for both flights, I'd refer the QFFC to the following in the T&Cs:

20.1.2 Status Credits are earned for paid travel or Any Seat Awards (excluding for the avoidance of doubt Classic Award flights) on certain regular scheduled flights and fares of Qantas, oneworld Alliance Airlines, Fiji Airways[SUP]*[/SUP], Jetstar Airlines and QantasLink, or other airlines as determined by Qantas. The number of Status Credits earned varies depending on the class booked for travel.

Class Booked does not equal Fare Basis.
