I know there is a similar thread in the Qantas forum but couldn't see one here so thought I'd share my famous moment. In J on VA562 from Perth to Syd was Ms Ita Buttrose, and she was just as charming as she seems on Telly. Perfectly turned out in a red jacket, black skirt and killer heels, looking stylish and elegant. She happily chatted to the people who sat in front of her whilst there was a delay in disembarking for a few mins, thanked the staff for a wonderful flight again and there was a VIP escort waiting for her who offered to take her bags and escort her thru the terminal but she said oh no need I know my way around and I only have this bag but thank you so much for the offer. She chatted happily whilst wandering down to baggage collection where her driver was waiting for her, saying how she loved flying Virgin and thinks they do a great job. So polite and charming, so friendly, just so Ita, and exactly how I always imagined she would be, yes I was star struck. If I was JB I would have invented The Club just for her alone if I knew she flew with me!

Ummm..... Richard Branson
;)

Lol. Richard Branson has also been spotted on Qantas a few times as well.

What can I say apart from, "Hes a classy guy, so I wouldn't expect him to slum it all the time" lol

He's also a generous man, so I'd expect him to donate to the blood bank too...

As a Canberra resident I have seen some politicians most recently Joe Hockey and Sentator Michaelia Cash (the wife pointed her out).
For any AFL fans out there, my last flight had ex Geelong President Frank Costa and current CEO Brian Cook.

I was in the MEL Lounge one day and what seemed to be the entire Collingwood squad were assembled around me. This was right down the back in the quiet area. Anyway, I couldn't name a single one of their players and quite frankly couldn't give a stuff, but was mildly amused at the long stream of people who came down to have photos taken with them. I noticed they weren't on the booze. One other time I saw Andrew Demetriou standing by the food bar in the old SYD lounge having a loud conversation. My only thought was "c'mon JB hurry up and build a Chairpersons lounge so I don't have to put up with these VIPs getting in my way when I'm making a toastie". Saw Tanya Zayetta in the Syd lounge once, I think I was the only one who recognised him.

Probably the only real celeb I've ever seen was Kerry O'Brien in the lounge at OOL. That was a thrill - what a truly outstanding chap he is.

There might be a reason for that...

caught a J flight from DRW - BNE one night, the hosties kept getting selfies with the woman sitting next to me, I couldn't work out who she was till we got off and they said "See you next time Miss Mauboy"

Actually now that you brought up the Pies, I remember seeing the Swans in the Sydney lounge early this year.
Collingwood may not be your cup of tea (nor mine), but they have a helluva lot more fans around Australia that Kerry O'Brien. Just ask Simsy :)

I ran into Anthony Koutoufides in Y once. I had no idea who he was, and he was trying to tell me how good herbalife was.

I've posted these elsewhere before but out of all the flights I've taken, I can only remember two "known" faces. Mark Occhilupo and Bill Shorten. Bill Shorten was my personal favourite as I was in 1C and he was behind me in 2C . If he ever makes PM, I'll be able to say I was given preference over the PM (DYKWIA)!

(Please don't anyone say that 2C is the better seat and he probably chose that one, as I like to bask in the glory even if it may be a stretch........never let the truth get in the way of a good story ;))

I had Seal and is entourage on a VA flight last year MEL-OOL; only time in 2+ years I've not got my 3C/D as they moved me to row 5 to accommodate his entourage.

He was in 1A but spent most of the time in Y chatting with his guys, signing autographs and posing for pics...nice guy.

Hanson in the VA lounge at ADL on Wed.

I knew they had to be famous due to the sunglasses indoors thing. But I had to ask the staff who they were ;)

My wife saw their concert in Sydney - huge in the 90s, not such a big thing now ;)
