Hi all,

I am well aware of the qantas lounge family policy, however not sure if it works with the complimentary invites.
I have gifted my 2x complimentary invites to family of mine flying syd-cgk on QF they're a party of 3, 2xadults, 1x 16 year old.
My question is will they allow the 16y/o in as part of the family policy or will they ask for another invite?

Any experiences greatly appreciated, I would ask on Twitter but not sure the answer I would get would be correct :)

Thanks

They will most likely want a 3rd invitation. Some have had luck guesting infants/toddlers with these passes, but I suspect the lounge angels will treat a 16yo differently.

If anyone has the qf syd intl J lounge phone number(they don't publish it online anymore) would you mind pm it to me please?
I might call and ask at the source as well.

Thanks for the link Steady, though I suspect things may have been 'enhanced' since then? Also there is no red roo to fall back on now :(
I'm still going to hunt down the phone number and ask the lounge staff what's the go.

You will need 3 invites. My wife and 2 kids (11 & 8) needed 3 invites to get in to the BNE domestic lounge a month ago.

I told them to try with 1 at first but it didn't work

Thanks for the info, will keep an eye out on the 'Free to a good home' section from now on :) don't want my family members to be embarrassed if refused entry for all 3.

Data point. My NB sister-in-law was allowed into the ADL QC with her 6 month year old son on a single complimentary pass a few days ago.

I intended to get her into the SYD QC two days prior but I hadn't connected the invite to her actual booking (it seems unnecessarily complicated) but she was saved from the walk of shame and let in anyway. :)
