Hi all,

Has anyone flown EY J Class From PER-AUH and can confirm if pyjamas and mattress are offered in J on the PER-AUH-PER legs? I read somewhere that it is only offered for flights greater than 10 hours, but I also recall reading somewhere that the PER-AUH was excluded.

Thanks

Data point of from June 2015 flying AUH-PER (night time flight). No pyjamas provided. I used my QF ones though. I can't recall whether a mattress was provided or not though. Regardless, I was extremely comfortable.

Dear Mondo,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us here on our forum.

As part of our 'turn down' service on board, we do provide mattresses, slippers and pajama sets along with our in-flight amenity kits which will be provided on all Ultra Long Haul flights in Business Class.

We hope this helps and look forward to seeing you. *GW

Thanks EY for your reply, that is good news as I will doing AUH-SYD in a few weeks and would prefer not to take my QF pyjamas to wear on EY.

Would you please clarify the definition of an "Ultra Long Haul Flight"?

Well this is very odd indeed. Hopefully the nice EY rep on here can clarify what is the policy. My EY450 AUH - SYD seems to be 14.05 hours and with an arrival time of 0735, I expect to be asleep before that. Will I get a bed made up and pyjamas?

Seems to exclude AU flights, flew on EY460 yesterday and no sign of mattress or turndown service.

I do the EY460 too and I've never had a mattress in business. On the 773 or A346. Pyjamas yes but only since flying reimagined began.

Their website (linked here) states that
On longer flights, enjoy a Turn-down service including a mattress, cotton loungewear and slippers.
Previously the website stated for flights 10 hours and over, so my guess is that hasn't changed. However it only appears to be on the 787/A380 that have mattress pads in Business. Pj's should be available upon request.

@EtihadAirways, would be nice to see what is actually defined as "Ultra Long Haul" as honestly, anything over 8 is really considered Long Haul and anything over maybe 10 is Ultra Long Haul meaning all flights from AUS would be fit into that definition.

AUH-PER I did 2 days ago. No PJs or mattress on that, but I wonder if it might change when they introduce the 787. They'll have the business studio, the smaller fuel burn means they could carry the extra weight. The A332 is a medium haul aircraft, there's not even a dedicated crew rest area, having to resort to using the last 3 rows of economy for their rest.

I also did AUD-PER two days ago and no Pjs, no mattress. It was comfy enough but not as comfy as CX IMO

Did you ask for PJs?

I didn't ask, it was pretty full cabin and I didn't see anybody with EY branded PJs. FWIW I thought the CX beds were more comfortable and the service was more personalised and polished.

Just FYI the EY pyjamas are plain black with no logo or branding.
At least the F ones are - they've never given me pyjamas in J on the PER<->AUH sectors.

Has anyone had a mattress/PJ's yet on AUH-AU then?

There is still no clarification a month later.

I was given pyjamas, mattress, duvet and full turn down service in F on SYD-AUH.

Hi all, sorry for the long time to respond.

Every flight longer than 12hrs is considered ultra long haul, and during this flight you will have access to pyjamas, turndown service and mattresses. Our AUH-MEL flight is less than 12hrs, hence it's considered a long haul flight and unfortunately doesn't provide pyjamas etc.

Thanks, hope this helps!

Guys, the PER-AUH flight is getting retimed later in the year to be a night time flight (Depart 1700, Arrive 0030). Surely that qualifies for at least a pair of PJs especially considering we can't book F to get these guaranteed since there won't be an F cabin on this route even once the 789 takes over the route. That feels pretty poor on the customer experience front Etihad.

Hi scottz95,

We are really sorry for your disappointment. We will pass your feedback on to the relevant team and we will do our best to ensure you a nice flight. *JS
