Extra QFF pts if I buy a Woolworths Gift Card using my ANZ FF CC & use it in store

Hi I am new to the forum.

Like to ask if anyone has done this before.

E.g. I had an ANZ FF CC, if I use it to buy the Woolworths Gift Card (say $60). Then use the gift card to shop in store again ($60) along with my everyday rewards card. I should able to get QFF points from both ANZ and Woolworths Group?

If yes, it seems like a hassle but worth doing cos i can get more points out of it.

I don't think you'll get extra points. Here is my breakdown of points earning:

Buy Gift Card $60 - ANZ Credit Card points (I think 60), no Woolies points.
Use Gift Card $60 - Woolies points (30), no ANZ points.

Total points earning:
ANZ - 60
Woolies - 30


Buy $60 groceries using ANZ card - ANZ Credit card points (60), Woolies points (30).

Total points earning:
ANZ - 60
Woolies - 30

This occurs because Gift Cards are exempted from points earning when purchased. See the T&C's:

The following are exclusions from the qualifying spend in respect of the different stores:

• Supermarkets and Woolworths Liquor

Smoking/Tobacco products & accessories, Gift Cards, Cash Outs, Home Delivery Charges and Internet Cafes

Of course you can get points from both ANZ and woolworths by doing this. But why would you bother with the hassle as you can get points from both ANZ and woolies just by buying groceries

ANZ points are more likely to be 30 rather than 60.

Depending on whether the OP has been changed to the new system or not, or if they are using the AMEX.

This is kind of along the lines of a question I have..

What are Qantas frequent flyer points worth to you and what lengths do you go to in order to collect them? I'm sure this has already been discussed but I can't seem to locate anything with a search.
