Ethiopian Airlines Experience?

Hi all,
I will be flying JNB to ADD return (in Y) in a couple of weeks time on their B752. Has anyone flown recently with them and able to share their experience? I'm not worried about the lack of IFE, its a 6 hour day time flight so I'll be sure to grab a window seat...

Ethiopian Airlines has quite an extensive network and a fleet of 737s, B757s and 767s.
Their pilots always had a surprisingly good reputation and they were generally well thought of in Africa; and the industry in general. I flew them once from Beijing to Delhi.

Then they had the disaster in Beirut, and that has sullied their record somewhat.

I'd fly them again, and I'd be surprised if they are not snapped up by an airline alliance in the near future.

Ethiopian is joining the Star Alliance... hopefully this year.. (but the joining dates often seem to get pushed back...)

I must have missed this news. I wonder if OW will ever have an African partner other than Affiliate ComAir? Star Alliance now have 3 partners on the continent.
