Does anyone else hate microsoft? My Win 7 Toshiba Z930 ultrabook worked perfectly when purchased it in 2012 and it was great to take travelling being fast and light. Last year in their wisdom ms thought I should 'upgrade' to Win 10, but I resisted that until one day I found they had 'upgraded' me without my agreement - I think a lot of people had that happen.
Earlier this week I had splash messages from ms about an 'important' upgrade that just had to be done. They even scheduled a time which I declined a couple of times and then agreed to just do it.
Seemed to work ok except for one update (Microsoft .Net Framework 4.7 for Windows 10 Versio 1607 and Windows Server 2016 for x64 (KB3186568)) which failed to install.
Next day machine wouldn't boot up and got bsod with message:
"Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. The Boot Configuration Data File is missing some required information.
File:\ BCD
Error code: 0xc0000034
You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media like a disc or USB device contact your PC adminisrator or PC/Device manufacturer."
Searching the web (answers.microsoft.com) lists many people having this same problem after a recent Win 10 update.
Has anyone else had this problem?
