but isnt it all about getting points??

Not always. For example $50 off 2 x $80 bottles that are never usually discounted and free freight is enough for me. Or $50 off couple of bottles including one at $124 that is already the best price around (Langmeil Freedom 1843 Shiraz). You need about 5,000 points to make up the $50.

And you can actually claim the points from the Guest checkout if you want, there is a form supplied to do that.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

My view is that I am buying the points for the price paid (where else can I earn that many for that cost - certainly not flying) and I get a case of wine thrown in for free. I'll buy a case of the Pinor Noir for my clients as gifts. Wow, already sold out

Ended up with Woodlands Cabernet Merlot and Heirloom Kings Garden SGM - I have enough straight Shiraz's. 20K bonus + 1,782 standard points for $594.

I agree with the "buy the points and get wine as a bonus" view. A few weeks ago I was 40 k points short for a 2x EK F redemption. 40 k top-up points on the QF website cost $1121. I got 18 bottles of bonus wine with a total of 40,000 + 2760 points for $920!

Fair enough. For me I’m buying wine and I’d happily pay 1c per point so that’s a discount I take off the price and see if I’m getting an ok deal. Plus a $50 voucher hopefully...

First little stuff-up from QF Wine unfortunately.

I ordered the mixed case with the bottle of Hendricks. Aus Post managed to deliver the wine, but lost the Hendricks. Aus Post “investigate” but send me back to QF. Two emails to QF Wine ignored. Now on the phone with the offshore call centre who are somewhat useless... to say the least.

Thanks for that.

Such a shame they elected to outsource this. The staff were absolutely useless and the line so bad I could hardly hear them. First person put me on hold and hung up after half an hour. Second one had to call me back three times before we eventually got a clear line.

My deliveries have arrived safely this morning - for the first time, the points (21,782) aren't already in my account
