Enhanced GHA DISCOVERY program, coming early Dec 2021

Thought I would give GHA a try and did a “mattress run” across Vietnam and Thailand and am now a freshly minted Titanium member until December 2023
All stays credited within 24hrs of checking out and tier status in app also changed promptly.
“Stayed” one night at each of the following
- Pan Pacific Hanoi $141
- Parkroyal Saigon $106
- Avani Atrium Bangkok $61

So for an outlay of $308 I reached Titanium and have a stay at a Mysk property upcoming so keen to see how the status is recognised.
More importantly I think it will come in handy for Europe next year especially some Kempinski properties that look very appealing

I had a great experience at Kempinski in Germany (Munich, I think) as a GHA Platinum, some years ago... good upgrade and lots of goodies (incl. my favourite hefeweizen!) left as a welcome amenity. Hopefully you'll get even better with the top rung status.

Cheers,
Matt.

Looks like Discovery are extending status, received this today.

Received this as well. Also noticed my PGR black did not drop either as not all my stays where paid and did not think they where extending.
So with Hilton also extending I am so glad I did not bother to pursue in trying to maintain them last year. Although with current hotel prices I can see why they would want to encourage people to stay.

Interesting as since Jan 1st my status is showing up as being Titanium to 12/24 🤷
Nice - I already had Ti status to the end of 2023 through a promo last year, and mine hasn't had anything extra added. Hoping it may yet happen. Did you have any / many stays in 2022?

Only 7 nights. New to the program and did an Asia mattress run of 3 nights in October which elevated me to Titanium and then stayed 4 nights at Mysk Al Badayer. When I opened my app on Jan 1st it had the expiry date of 12/24 so who knows what they are doing.
I’ll stay at a few more this year

As a bit of a backstory when Pan Pacific took over from the Hilton in the Docklands the Pan Pacific Regional Manager was present and he comped a number of guests to Discovery Black. Not sure what he did but for a number of years many retained black status without having to stay the required number of nights, sometimes I only managed up to 5 nights in the year and my status remained unchanged. I think the last time I stayed at one of their properties was Feb 19. When this thread started I figured that during any revamp my ongoing membership may fall back inline with the normal program. I slipped through the cracks for a few years but knew it would most likely come to an end at some point, anyway it was good why it lasted. Based on brand stay rules it should be pretty easy to maintain through to 2024..
