Hope this is the right box to ask this question - Mrs Franky is a OW Emerald and needs to fly MLB-DXB-MAD-DXB-PER on 06OCT15. ExpertFlyer flight availability shows the flights are designated as QF with EK next in brackets. (Flights QF8407,8141,8142 and 8420). Despite being asked to ensure they were to be ticketed as QF, her e-ticket just issued has the flights shown as EK only. The QF website states that certain partners offer the optionof FF points and SCs.

Where does she stand in this regard? Your advice will be appreciated.

Was the booking made through Qantas' website? According to the earn calculator, even on EK flight number you will earn points but at a lower rate. No SC.

Thanks to all three of you for your quick responses. The bookings were made by the group who wants my wife to do some lectures in Madrid. Don't know who she booked them thru. Will ask her to go back to them and amend if possible.

I suspect the technicalities of having QF code on Emirates planes was lost. You may not get QF codes on some onward flights from Dubai (Venice is one I know of).

Having QF codes may be more expensive than EK ones when both are available. Might be a reason why they booked as EK. Mrs Franky needs to lay down the law :)

That seems to be the case, wife rang QF who suggested pricing was a probability. Her ticket has a $500 change fee, which I would normally assume would apply for a flight or date change, but probably would also apply if it was just a ticketing change as well. Wife did request the QF flights, however the PA of the group booking them came back and asked for her passport expiry date, and whilst waiting for that to be provided, booked her on EK. Lesson learnt I guess.
