Embraer E190 mechanical problems

Been flying to and from syd quite a bit recently but in the last two times I've flown out I've had delays both with embraers.

Couple of Monday's back I was flying va905 which was cancelled due to mechanical problems, though they swiftly were able to put me onto the next flight. Yesterday morning I flew va909 which caused me to be delayed in syd for about 3 hours and they weren't able to put me on a flight (they were prioritizing connecting flights, fair enough), they also didn't give us any refreshment vouchers and communication was very confusing, it caused me to miss a breakfast I was supposed to go to.

Is this a common occurrence with virgin embraers or am I just just very unlucky? Most of the time they're using 737s, they're going to be my pick from now on..

i travel weekly syd-mel at present and try to pick the E-Jets whenever possible (which has been about 5 flights in 12 weeks), think I've had 1 go tech in that lot

Like yohy?!, I try to book the E90s (although I don't mind the 738s). I can only recall one going tech in all the E-Jets I've flown (touch wood). Perhaps you've just copped an unlucky run. Just be grateful they aren't subbing them with the Taiwanese Airborne sTreet caRts!

I actually like those ATRs! It's not the same as the jets but I think they're still pretty comfy.

My God! I have heard the saying that some people are easily pleased........but you take it to the extremes! :shock:

LOL! I've been on those horrible CRJ-100s and CRJ-200s. Let me tell you, an ATR72-600 feels like an A380 F suite after being in one of those for a few hours...

I regularly fly on aging Twin Otters....and I rate the VA ATRs along side those for comfort. They're not an aircraft I'd choose given an alternative, but I do hear what you're saying.........banging your head against a gyprock wall is so much nicer than banging your head against a concrete wall.........I'd prefer not to bang my head against anything, but it's not always possible!
