I had been posting about this in a broader Citibank thread here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ram/email-offer-double-your-reward-45040.html
but I think it's time for a separate thread.

I've just received another Double Points offer on my Velocity Flyer card. The last one was in mid November to mid December. This card is really only worthwhile for spend up to $1500 a month, but still, that's an extra 3000 Velocity points potentially, as my statement date is mid-month.

It's time to double your Velocity Points†

Dear DeKa

It's easy. Just use your Virgin Flyer Credit Card between 1 March to 31 March 2013 and during this period we will double your points† until you reach 20,000 points. It's that simple.

Now you can turn your everyday purchases like groceries, petrol or even train tickets into something to get excited about. Every little bit counts towards your points balance so you can start rewarding yourself faster than you think.

Great offers can't last forever.

We can only keep this offer open between 1 March to 31 March 2013.

Share the benefits with your additional cardholders.
Don't forget your additional cardholders can also help you earn double Velocity Points. You can have up to 4 additional cardholders on your account* at any one time. Check out our website or call us on 13 37 39.

No, but I did receive it for my Virgin Flyer card (issued by Citibank). It was worded exactly the same way.

Maybe not the right thread, but similar program and backed by Citi.

My double Velocity points from 15 nov to 15 Dec should have come through by now. They have not.. So I sent an email through Virgin Money's site last night. Virgin Money called me this morning - it was clearly an error, and the extra points will be credited immediately and I should call back if they aren't in within 3 days.

EDR MasterCard should learn from this! Empower your front line staff to fix low value points issues and everyone is happy!

Re: [Email offer] Double your reward points for one month only

My double points came through with the normal points, although there was a difference of 1 point. Rounding I guess.

Interesting. Mine did not, even though the Virgin money (Citi) site shows them. I waited the 8-10 weeks and followed them up. Hopefully they show up in the next few days, but if it is anything like Citi proper, they will.

Re: [Email offer] Double your reward points for one month only

My Velocity CC / Citi points came through overnight which is great.

Re: [Email Offer] Virgin Velocity Flyer & High Flyer (Citibank) Credit Card Double Po

I got the High Flyer card and didn't receive this email :(

Re: [Email Offer] Virgin Velocity Flyer & High Flyer (Citibank) Credit Card Double Po

I wonder if these offers are given depending on how you 'perform' in the previous offer? I spent as much as appropriate for the last offer 15 Nov-15 Dec.

Nothing, I'll need to stop using my card and see if they try and entice me out!

I think it will work too! I only use this car when I have an offer (like this) or to book two for one flights. Sometimes I am lucky and the two coincide!

Some feedback on this offer. My statement period is mid-month. I take advantage of this to earn more double points (ie spend $1500 between 1-15 March, then spend another $1500 16-31 March for a total of 6000 Velocity points).

The bonus points for 1-15 March posted accurately. The bonus points for 16-31 March (on my mid-April statement) did not post. I have had three emails and two phone calls about this topic, and finally Virgin Money agreed with me and have posted the 1500 points for 16-31 March. It may have been the way I was explaining it, but once I spoke to an agent who understood the issue, and read the email offer properly, she immediately agreed with me and gave me the bonus points.

If you received this offer you may wish to check your statement covering the late March period.

Like anything involving call centres, if you first don't get the answer you know you should get, hang up and try again.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
