Hi All.
just wondering if any has heard or knows if Emirates are pulling the A380 from the Melbourne-Singapore route (EK405) 7PM flight.
I've been monitoring the flight availability as i want to book an April 2017 flight.
Expertflyer isn't showing EK405 past the 25th March 2017 yet. that flight is still an A380.
i use the Chrome award finder app as well, that shows from the 26th March 2017 that EK405 is a 777-300ER leaving at 6:55M
I might just be looking too far in advance as emirates won't even let you book past 21st March 2017

i'd show a picture of the ward finder output, but my post count is too low.

Emirates (like most if not all?) do not have flight schedules more than 11 months in the future.

TheRealTMA
is correct. I believe the "golden number" is 354 days before flights are released for most airlines. With that being said, even if it shows as an A380 @ 354 days prior, there is obviously no guarantee that it'll stay as an A380.

Also note, I was under the impression the only the AUS-DXB direct flights were 380s and the AUS-SIN flights were 777 or 320/330?

EK 404/5 (DXB-SIN-MEL/MEL-SIN/DXB) has been operated by A380 since the start of March. No flights to Australia are 330's, all 777's or 380's and EK don't even have 320's in their fleet!

Sorry 330-200s.:)

Like the 777 from BNE, I thought the change to 380 was temporary for some operational reasons. FWIW - Emirates web site for March 17 shows availability for 380s on EK and and 330s on QF.

Was going to come back and edit and you might have been mixed up with their A340's instead of A320's which I think they still have.

The change to A380 was publicised as a permanent change to A380. I hope it stays that way, much better than 777-300ER or SQ's A330 MEL-SIN flight at the same time (although I think SQ are changing to 777, which is better as it's 3-3-3 configured unlike EK 3-4-3 in 777).

Well I do hope it stays with the A380, I can get a flight out with Emirates on the 777 from Brisbane easily enough, but I'd prefer to do a MEL-SIN in the A380.
will be catching the Emirates 777 back from BKK-SYD.

Sadly Expertflyer is now showing this as a 777-300ER from the 26/03/2017 to 29/04/2017

Apologies for the scare mongering, as of this afternoon, both expertflyer and Award finder are showing this back to the A380 :p

I ended up cancelling this flight. And flying Q all the way. The 320 bonus status credits were too irresistible.

fortunately I did not have to cancel this as I will requalify without needing DSC.

P: how much extra did you have to pay in fees and fare difference?

Looked to cancel our European trip on Saturday and rebook for the DSCs, but the $11K price difference convinced me to stay with the 50% SCs!

We can do duelling "office views" .... heading to Peru on Sunday.

Any restaurant tips? Safe travels!

Ouch. Our fares were pretty much the same less the cancellation fee. Even with the bonus 320 credits I still did pause before cancelling. It is an A380 after all. But not now.
