I just had a chat with Qantas staff who have added both my QFF and Admirals Club (AA) FF numbers to my upcoming Qantas flights.

When I quizzed them about it, they said its fine and I'll receive FF points for both programs.

You can have two FF numbers on the booking. One will be used for status benefits and the other for FF earning.

You won't be able to earn points on both.

There are more knowledgeable members than I who will know the correct terminology.

WIthout knowing exactly what they have done, it is hard to say what will happen. However, the points will almosr certainly only go to one of the programs.

My understanding is that there are two fields

FQTV - points collection
FQTS - status recognition

In my experience (predominantly business funded - not that I believe that it is important :p) QF has been notoriously awful at getting this even remotely correct.

In the days of earning BA status on QF flights I opted for the BA number in the FQTV field, used my QF WP1 card for lounge entry and boarding, then "grabbed" the CSM early in the flight, if in Y, and explained about the difficulties of getting the correct details in the FQTV/FQTS field in the hope of getting a few WP1 benefits - more particularly the express card for my destination. A bit DYKWIA but needs must. :)

If you sign up for MyFlights and check your booking in the website it should tell you which number is associated with FQTV (points collection)

Ignoring the others (llike FQTR and FQTU :) ) , I am not sure Qantas have ever said they actually use FQTS, or how they use it.

It's not Qantas, but if you fly SQ, you can only put a Krisflyer number into FQTS, and that is used for revenue tracking. So just because something exists, doesn't mean it's used the way you think it does!

Yep I used to get this. It would set alarm bells off for me. I'd finish up going into MMB on the Finnair site get both numbers out and then add the number I really, really wanted to accrue the TP/SC's in.

In my experience points and TP/SC's only ever went to one program.

Are you sure they didn't simply add both program numbers, and the QF flights will use the QF number and the AA the american ff number? So you are "getting points from each program", just not for each actual leg. Whenever I buy a ticket through QF for a set of flights that includes both QF flights and Avianca flights, both FF numbers are in the booking, and I automatically get QF credits (points etc) for the QF legs, and Lifemiles status and points earn on the AV legs.

(the first line of the OP's chat message appears to refer to "both bookings")

I have noted that even though status recognition is not filled in, the Qantas booking management page recognises the first FF entry as sapphire. which is what I wanted.

If I had to pick a program for my points, I would pick the qantas one (Red) so I guess upon exiting the qantas loungew ill get them to remove the AA FF number from the booking altogether, just to be sure.

Whatever you do double check on my flights that they have done what you want. I have had several issues with QF lounge staff supposedly changing or removing FF numbers.

I was not able to update the booking using the finnair site, as it does not support multiple FF numbers on the booking.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I was not able to update the booking using the finnair site, as it does not support multiple FF numbers on the booking.

From memory I deleted the number I saw when I logged in. I then logged out and back in again and found the other number had replaced the number I had deleted. I deleted this.

then I logged in and put the number I wanted in.

It was all a pain in the backside, but at the time I was being very precise and didn't have much room to manoeuvre in the programs I was crediting in order to reach status.

RJ seems to work with QF flights. And the changes show up in the qantas.com site too. But myflightsapp.com does not seem to update immediately. Will try back later.

PM me your record locator and what number you want on what flight and I might be able to do something about it for you.

I am not sure the Finnair sites works anymore for Qantas ticketed bookings.

I can't remember now whether it was the Finnair or Qatar site, but I used one of them a couple of weeks ago to change a colleague's FF number in a pure QF booking.

No worries... I'll get it sorted at checkin if its not right...
