Hi All,

Wondering what people tend to do at Melbourne Airport when they have a late night international flight, such as QF9, leaving at 11:25pm.

I have lounge access but will be coming from work in the city and if I can avoid having to sit around the international check in area for 3 hours with my suit case I'd rather avoid it.

Rather it would be better to get through and use either the Dom or Int lounge before the flight. Contemplating putting my suitcase in storage and seeing if I can access the domestic lounge until International counter's open at 8:25pm.

Any areas that people recommend if none of the above work?

Thanks!

Play the skill cranes, pinballs and Keymaster near the ramp on airside.

I'd try checking in early.
Otherwise if you put your bag in storage, the Dom lounge will probably want to see your boarding pass, can you do OLCI?

If I can't check in I just go to the Domestic lounge - don't need a BP, just your e-ticket.

Thanks Serfty, what do you do with your check in luggage?
I (normally) don't check luggage ...

When I can't check in it generally means I am in an exit row - I have completed check-in on similar occasions domestic J lounge service desk.

Having luggage make things more difficult.

Will your bags fit though the domestic x-ray machines?

Quite possibly. I'll have to check up if there is limits on the size of case you can scan through. Its only a medium sized case.

Anyone know the restrictions for size of case you can take into domestic terminal?

There is a paid baggage storage facility in the international arrivals area; I don't think it is very expensive.
