DXB lounge with 2 guests?

WP here, going through DXB on a Y ticket, with 2 relatives, most likely on EK metal/ticket (seriously, QF is $2K more for MEL-Europe than EK in Y for the periods I'm looking at ... they're also selling EK metal for $2K more than EK's own website ).

I know the lounges only allow 1 guest for a WP. Has anybody ever tried to go to the business lounge with 1 guest, stay 5 minutes, leave through the other exit (if memory serves there were 2), then go to the first lounge (as WP) and take the second guest in there? If asked I expect one would say they're lounge hopping ... I don't recall them scanning people leaving the lounge?

Also, if I get the DXB-Europe return leg as QF rewards on points (in J - I know, but I have the points, so why not treat the family), has anybody had experience linking the 2 PNRs (rewards Europe-DXB, EK ticket DXB-MEL)? Just wondering if that's possible? Reason I'm asking is that there is about 3 hours between landing in DXB and the plane back to Melbourne, just hoping it's possible to check in at the start of the trip and not have to exit the DXB airport then have to check in again, as 3 hours may be a bit short for that, especially if there happens to be a delay inbound to DXB. The alternative is spending the night there, which can be done, so no real big deal if not possible.

Thanks in advance

They scan your boarding pass and also the BP of the guest you take in. So presumably there'll be a tagged guest always showing on your BP even if you rock up at a different lounge. Prob best just to be honest and request an extra guest - I guess it depends on how busy the lounge is at the time. I've had Qantas lounge staff let me take extra guests in before but my understanding is that EK don't usually allow this as the lounge would be quickly snowed under.

As above, the boarding passes are scanned so I'd imagine it may show on their "system" if you were to bring another guest in.
I've found the EK staff in DXB to be pretty stiff and rule sticklers, and the T3 lounges packed in the evenings, so I'd also have doubts that they would let in additional guests.

I had a struggle as a QF SG to get myself, my wife and my three year old into the EK lounge. I think the only reason she relented in the end was because the little one was asleep and we only had about half an hour until boarding. Otherwise I don't think I'd have had a chance. Little did she know how much champagne I can consume in half an hour!

I'm not convinced anyone can answer this question if they haven't been in this situation.

Technically you are entitled to 1 guest. I'd try guesting one person into the business lounge and another guest into the First lounge. If they say anything you could always say you weren't aware.

I was also thinking of saying the 1st guest left and went shopping ... Or I'll try leaving the little one outside the lounge staring at the dragons whilst the two adults get in, see if they'll crack :)

Thanks all for the feedback on the lounge. We'll probably end up taking a day or two between flights so it should be less of a problem than being stuck there for hours in transit.

Any idea on the interlining (I think that's the right word?) between a QF reward on EK and an EK flight?

(and of course I'm not serious about leaving a kid outside the lounge)

No. If you are not within the rules, then just buy your way in.

You should not have problems with interlining between QF and EK. We've done it many times without issue.

Yes I've tried and they said no go. Even asked to speak to a manager due to delay and being switched from QF with those nice upper deck economy seats to the last row downstairs on EK (I guess they don't have upper deck economy anyway). Still no go. So we just paid for the extra guest.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Does WP on EK metal/flight even get you lounge access?? They're not OneWorld..

Absolutely! Special arrangement between EK and QF. Providing you are flying on EK or QF, not other OW airlines.
