I have some questions about visa on arrival for DXB that no one I asked, nor websites I perused seem to have ANY clue about :

- Is there a fee charged for this visa? The Dubai Dept of Residency website says that the visa will be issued free, whilst the UAE federal government's "eportal" says a fee of DHS100 (or US$28) is levied.
And if so - would they accept credit card for payment? Or must I have some local currency or US$ in hand prior to arriving to pay the visa fee?

- Besides blank passport pages, zero Israeli stamps - what documents do I need to present?

Cheers. :)

From memory, no fee. Just need your passport.

That's absolutely right. Just roll up and present your Australian passport - can't remember if you have to fill in an arrival card or not. The last three times I've been through I've been given a 60-day visa.

Conveniently, if you are going on to Oman you don't have to pay the Omani on-arrival visa fee if you have a UAE stamp in your passport. (The guys who marshall the airport queues at Muscat don't always know this, although the passport clerks do).

A bit more info on this:
OMAN (OM)

NOTES:
*21If arriving directly from the Emirate of Dubai and
holding a visa or bearing an entrance stamp for the
Emirate of Dubai, a seperate visa for Oman is not
required.
Visitors entering under this scheme must complete a
"Joint Facility Form" on arrival and may remain in Oman
for the period granted by the authorities in Dubai or 3
weeks in the case of nationals not requiring a visa for
Dubai. Penalty in the case of overstay: OMR 10.- per day.
NOTE: this does not apply to any other emirate of the
U.A.E..
(A work associate and her family is heading to Dubai first, then Oman! Very happy to hear this news! :D)

The visa is about AUD18 (OMR6) per adult.
