Anyone recently travelled in business on EK424?

I'm looking to book an award flight but wondering if it's really worth it on the emirates 777 or if should save my points for an A380 experience.

I was originally booked on an A380 DXB-PER which was downgraded to a 777 service. Have to say the A380 outbound was appreciably better.

The bar is cool in concept, but if you’re not someone who’s going to wander back there & strike-up a conversation with a stranger then it might not be used. I’m told by mates who are likely to strike-up a conversation with strangers that you always meet interesting people there.

Surely Emirates wouldn’t be running the old non-lie-flat J seats all the way to Perth? Their seat-maps on SeatGuru infer they still have sitting-up seats in some 777’s, but I assume those are only for shorter distances? Emirates have a fairly top-tier product in the upper classes don’t they?

Their 777 most common business class with 2-3-2 is well below current market expectations. It is also angled flat.

Only their new 777s are being fitted with full flat beds. Still 2-3-2, though some now 2-2-2.

They have the angle seats in the Adelaide flight which is over 13 hours.

I'm not sure if EK has any of the standard recliner seats left in business. Seat guru is hopelessly out for date and can't really be relied on for most airlines outside of the USA (you really need to know other sources to confirm which seat map you're looking at with seatguru).

The current standard long haul for EK 777s - even their longest flights, is angled lie-flats in business (flat sleeping surface, but at an incline, so not flat with the floor).

Yep, one of the reasons we chose to fly out of MEL this time plus the better lounge and it was cheaper. Chauffeur pick up in ADL and Melbourne was a nice surprise aswell. Wasn’t expecting it TBH

It really does make you consider. Angle flat doesn’t cut it really these days.

Definitely and 2-3-2 in J is just so poor IMO. EK are brilliant but this just lets them down. When we weighed up the pro’s and cons it just made more sense to fly out of MEL. $300 cheaper per pax and included the domestic QF J flight.

I did EK DXB ADL on a B777 and won't do that again. I really dislike 2 3 2 in J and I didn't think the service was great. Now F on the B777 was much nicer and on the 380 even better
