Seems Qantas are trying to encourage flying - I'm ~2/3 the way to PG.

Seems Qantas are trying to encourage flying - I'm ~2/3 the way to PG.

I was offered double SC's a couple of years back.. nearly got me to Gold after one Y/J trip -> MEL-SYD-DRW-ADL-MEL Ended up getting:

MEL - SYD = 80 SC Travelling in Y
SYD-DRW = 160SC Travelling in J
DRW-ADL = 160SC Travelling in J
ADL-MEL = 80SC Travelling in Y

480 SC for one trip! I wish I was offered it while between DEC and March this year.. Would have made WP!

Yep I just got the same email.

Won't make PG this year but it certainly helps towards LTS! :)

re: [Double SC's on QF flights] "Like complimentary Gold membership for your partner?"

After I accepted I didnt get the reply you did - probably because I already get all my statements/activities sent to me via email or online anyway.

What is PG? Is it Platinum with LTG?

re: [Double SC's on QF flights] "Like complimentary Gold membership for your partner?"

PG=Partner Gold, I assume!

Anyway, I haven't had an email like that, although I wouldn't have minded it. Maybe they realised that there is no real incentive to offer it to me because I'll be getting partner gold 6 months into my current membership year (with flights already booked to get there save for a few SCs) - although I'd love double SCs to help me to get to LTG more quickly.

re: [Double SC's on QF flights] "Like complimentary Gold membership for your partner?"

Partner Gold, reached by earning 2100 SCs in a membership year.

Thanks NM. Mrs B has had this twice, and as I didn't make it for her last year, they dropped her to Silver.

re: [Double SC's on QF flights] "Like complimentary Gold membership for your partner?"

I received this offer as well, although I am currently Gold and have not come close to requal for Silver yet with 3 months left.

Good incentive to fly though!

I feel unloved :(

Mind you I am gold, and on track to requalify, but such an offer could help me get back to Plat!

Just been chattign with a colleague who is gold and he hasn't been sent the email. However some silvers I know have been sent the email.

Wonder how they selected who got offered the incentive?

re: [Double SC's on QF flights] "Like complimentary Gold membership for your partner?"

QF emails take a while to get through, my partner usually gets her email 4 or so hours after mine so there may still be offers comming.

My dad received the same email this morning, he's almost requalified at PS, so must be making the rounds.

My offer, just received, is for double SCs in April-June, to help me retain Platinum. I am 4 months into my Qantas year but have only 1xx SCs so far. In fact, with the travel booked and planned I would have comfortably retained WP anyway. However, the bonus will bring LTG forward a month or two.

No doubt this sheet of offers is not only directed at keeping you flying but also at keeping you flying Qantas. Whatever you think of things like the credit card issue, Qantas has rung rings around DJ in innovative and proactive marketing initiatives in the past few months.

re: [Double SC's on QF flights] "Like complimentary Gold membership for your partner?"

I wish Qantas would do something for flyers who regularly earn enough status credits to qualify for partner gold, but who don't have a partner. Perhaps relax the rules so that you could offer the gold membership to a friend or an employee.
Having LTG and having earned more than enough sc's to qualify for partner gold for at least two partners for the last three years there doesn't seem much incentive to remain loyal to Qantas once you have reached platinum status for the year.

Join the club. Qantas must feel I am not worthy as I do not have a partner. ;)

re: [Double SC's on QF flights] "Like complimentary Gold membership for your partner?"

Finally received mine, after feeling a little unloved. Some QF Emails seem to come out staggered.

While that may be attractive for the member, it would have some issued for Qantas. I expect they are expecting that a "partner" is likely to be travelling with the high status member for much of their travelling anyway, so they get much of the benefits without needing the Gold status and hence costing QF very little. Giving it to someone who will do most of their travel independently of the Platinum member means higher potential costs to Qantas.
Having LTG and having earned more than enough sc's to qualify for partner gold for at least two partners for the last three years there doesn't seem much incentive to remain loyal to Qantas once you have reached platinum status for the year.
Hence why I have not earned a single SC since attaining LTG. All goes to AAnother program now where I have received enhanced benefits based on my personal travel patterns over the last 3 years.
