I know the terms and conditions of the reward state that it can take "up to six weeks" for the bonus SCs to be added to your account, but wondered if I could ask the more experienced FFs on the forum what their real-world experience of this was?

Cheers!

There are multiple threads on the various DSC promos you really could have asked this in the most recent one for the October promotion.

At any rate, DSC's usually posted between 2 and 7 days post the flight original credits posting to one's account. So within a week is usual.

In several recent threads this has been discussed with numerous examples. The experience seems to be two-fold: often they post within 3-5 days of the flights, sometimes within couple of weeks. But there's an equal number of examples of DSC's not posting at all within the allowed time period but the customer needing to chase up Qantas FF customer service to get them added to the account.
To which camp which particular flight ends up in seems to be magic with no way of predicting it. You just need to sit back, relax with a drink of your choice and wait...

Sorry, this was pretty lazy of me - but thanks for both of you getting back to me so quickly.

Just pretty excited (as I was pretty gutted at having missed out at the last promotion by a coupleof days - not knowing it was live!!) - will be my first experience of gaining FF status!

Welcome to the club!

I've been a lowly silver for a little while now and have mulled over this a number of times: what value would gold provide? The most famous perk would be lounge access but since 95% of my trips are domestic point to point and I generally prefer to arrive at the airport at the last minute (ideally, walk through the security screening, straight to the gate and into the plane ) that would be a moot point for me. Priority security would be nice on occasion, otherwise it's pretty quick anyway in QF terminals. Up(per)front seating would be nice, too, when travelling with hand luggage only and wanting quickly to the destination but it's not been a deal-breaker. So far the luggage tags have been the best thing, they make the drop off easy.

You'll end up with the same question at some point and need to figure out what'll be the right level for you. o_O

I'm taking a flight next Tuesday, will let you know but on the DSC thread for the current (until end of today) promo.

For me it's by end of week. This promo, and the previous one

Missed out on the last 2 promotions but double SCs are now posting within 2 days for the February promotion.

I took a Double SC flight in September. For the first leg of the trip the SC's were awarded within 4 days. 8 weeks later despite phone calls, on-line chats and promises that they would be awarded within 24/48 hours the second leg of the trip still haven't been awarded....originally I was told to monitor my account.........waiting, waiting, waiting

Even though the promo terms say "6 weeks" if you email them about missing double SCs you get back a generic reply that says "6-8 weeks"

Then you reply with a cut and paste showing that its 6 weeks; I did that and they were fixed overnight.
