I am always confused on these one with Qantas. In the US - it is linked to your credit card or your profile with the hotel (You set a preferred airline and they credit your account) but Qantas says 'show at checkin'. I have trouble telling whether this is a 'double-dip' i.e. hotel points + bonus qantas points; or you are replacing qantas points with hilton points; whether you should set something in your profile on Hilton or do you really need to show your Qantas card at check in (if yes we would all be carrying around 100's of loyalty cards hotels, airlines, rental cars.etc.). This one you register on so I hope it is 'digitally linked' in someway! If there is a guide of some sort on these types of offers - I would love someone to point me to it!

:)

I don't think showing your QF FF card at check-in is at all a necessity. As long as your QF card is linked to your HHonors account and your account is set to earn HHonors point and miles.

That said, with the updated HHonors website, I can't find where the MyWay selection is located. And, secondly, is it 'HHonors poins and fixed miles' for QF?

Something like this: Once signed in to My Account, then under My Profile>Preferences>MyWay Earning Style Preferences>Change Earning Style.

Also, Points and Fixed Miles for Qantas,

You:

1) Register on Qantas at the link above from Verde
2) Set your earning preference on Hilton per DC3's instructions

make sense?

Has anyone had the double points register...and if so how did they show? Is it double points for each stay, or a one off bonus?

Only used it once so can't say if it is valid for more than one stay. I used it for a short stay but switched to other more attractive options for longer stays. The first 1000 posted within a week of the stay and the description named the hotel. The second 1000 posted 10 days later with the description: "Hilton Bonus Points Offer".

I had 7 stays of Christmas with 5 before the year end, none have had the bonus posted yet but it does say up to 6 weeks.

Markis10..I corrected my post after you quoted it. I really had no knowledge whether it was valid more than once or not.

I read it as a QF promo and applicable for multiple stays:

The promotion was run across most of the big airlines globally. Qantas was just one of the partners. They in fact were added in the 2nd round of airlines participating much later after the promotion started. At the end a 3rd round of airlines were put in but the promo was well under way by that time.

I had six stays in the promotion period. I saw that points would post up to six weeks but I had this post on the 14th December in my QF account:

14 DEC 12 HILTON BONUS POINTS PROMOTION 14DEC12--- 2,000 0

My first stay was in mid November. I also had a stay, 6th December, that didn't post at all so called up Hilton who told me QF received the points for the missing stay on.....14th December, so I am wondering what is happening. I called up QF who immediately posted 1000 points for the missing stay??? So I now have no idea what is happening.

edit: QF called whilst I was editing this post and confirmed the double points are processed by Hilton. The very eficient and charming QF rep also raised the issue of the criteria to present the QF card when checking in suggesting it then led to a manual report being created at the Hilton.

TonyHancock, my stay was late November and the bonus 1000 points posted on December 14th as well. The first 1000 had posted earlier. Maybe they transfer the bonus points monthly? I can identify the source because I only credited one stay.

If you have many it is near impossible to identify which stay is crediting given the generic "Hilton Bonus points" descriptor. My guess is that they'll filter through shortly.
