I just received my replacement QF platinum Visa plus NAB/AMEX card; included is an offer for double points on "everyday purchases" (T&C excludes gambling/gaming purchases) using the NAB/AMEX card, capped at 50,000 points. In addition you could get 10,000 points by registering online. Register by 16 May, points paid by 31 July 2015.

Offer open to first 1500 applicants.

Info and register online at http://nab.com.au/qantaspremiumamex

Is it just me, or does something smell FISHY about this? Can anyone find an info about this on the NAB website?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I suppose. But it does ask for your "nabID" where as everywhere else in NAB it is spelt "NAB ID". There are also a couple of formatting errors when I look at the page.... within the terms and conditions.

also.... in the T&C "The offer is only available to selected primary cardholders and is non-transferable."

The other dodgy thing is the offer for the bonus QF points also applies to those who have a NAB Velocity card. How is that going to work?

If this was a "phishy" site, I doubt the paperwork with the link on it would have come in the same envelope as my new NAB/AMEX card.

The linked NAB website has the secure green padlock "Verified by Verisign" on the URL line, suggesting it is legitimate.

Premium NAB cards for both QF and Velocity are issued as a matched pair - a platinum Visa card and a NAB-branded AMEX card. They are probably making this offer to cardholders who have Velocity cards as well (see Compare Credit Cards - Credit Card Comparison - NAB (you many need to scroll right to see their premium cards).

I just typed in http://nab.com.au/velocitypremiumamex (ie changed qantas to velocity in the URL) and a similar page with Velocity points offer came up. I suspect the deal is for NAB clients who have the premium FF card products.

I signed up! thanks very much for the heads up, I don't think they can do much with my name and NAB ID so happy to give it a go!

Same website comes up if you type it in rather than clicking on link. So hoping it's legit - if not, it's a good fake and I'm an idiot. Perhaps NAB trying to stop people ditching cards after recent 'enhancenements'?

The QFF address in T&C also seems to be ok when typed in, giving free membership to NAB customers. Though I can't believe anyone pays for it in the first place.

I don't understand this comment: why would NAB send a fake link and fake paperwork with a genuine brand new Platinum One NAB/Amex Card IN THE SAME ENVELOPE, one that works in an ATM (to change my pin) and that works today in restaurants and retail stores, and where my transactions are appearing in my account when I peruse it online?

No offence intended. I signed up. It just is such a good offer that it edges into 'too good to be true' territory. See recent Facebook Qantas scam. From other comments, I'm not alone in being cautious.

Looks like the old Platinum card has been rebranded as Premium.

The NAB website does say "NAB Qantas (or Velocity) Rewards Premium Card" but the cards themselves say "Platinum" (my cards actually say "Platinum ONE" for some reason, even the Amex card (my mistake in the OP) but the printing is silver on silver (or platinum) so you can only see the wording by holding the card at an acute angle).
