Ok guys, quick question, I am looking at 2 options, both appear valid, option 1 seems a long time to fly, but not too much longer than option 2.

I am curious which option others would pick and why.

1st is DONE4

PER-SIN-LHR-DFW-LASxPHX-DFW-YVR,YVR-DFW-SFO-SYD-MEL,MEL-PER

2nd is DCIR22

PER-HKG-LAX-LASxPHX-DFW-YVR,YVR-DFW-SFO-SYD-MEL,MEL-PER.

I suspect Simongr would pick option 1:)

Scratch that

2nd is DCIR22

PER-HKG-LAX-LASxPHX-DFW-YVR,YVR-DFW-SFO-SYD-MEL,MEL-PER
Isn't a valid DCIR22 or DCIR26 as this over 26000miles as per mileage monkey

PER-HKG-LAX-LAS-PHX-DFW-YVR,YVR-DFW-LAX-MEL,MEL-PER is 26719

PER-NRT-LAX-LAS-PHX-DFW-YVR,YVR-DFW-LAX-MEL,MEL-PER is 26098

I know the land segment counts in the 16 segments, but do the miles count, becuase if not I can drop the 255 miles from LAS-PHX and will under the 26000 miles?

So only difference in itinary is 1st leg.

It depends on the fare difference vs travel time distance.

I hate LAX (but LHR is no easy airport either) so i'd go option one presuming fares roughly same, and you're not worried about slightly later arrival into LAS/earlier depature from PER.

The second is invalid as an xCIRnn, it's approx. 26861 miles.

You would need an xCIR34SA which has to include South America.

Thaks Serfty. I was working on that with different combinations and realised, looks like a DONE4. unless surface miles don't count.

Hey - I resemble that remark!

Honestly it would depend on how much time I had. In fact my upcoming DONE4 is only *cough* syd-sfo-dfw-sat-dfw-lga,jfk-lhr-hkg-akl-mel-adl-per-syd *cough*

I did try to slip in a lhr-dxb-lhr mileage run but couldnt make the days work ;)

Given they are close in price now I would pick the DONE4 personally now.

How does my quote of Serfty end up with a date stamp earlier than his, thus comes up on the list earlier ie out of order?

Don't worry - I deleted an earlier post I mucked up with an edit.

Surface sectors DO count in the total mileage calculation (MPM).

Also, you are only allowed max 4 stopovers in North America (2 free + 2 paid) using DCIR fare. Not sure how this fits into your trip?
