There is a bit of discussion around a few threads about current / future pricing, thought it might be a idea to keep in one place.

I'm currently seeing SYD-MEL pricing at $85 Saver (SALE ON) / Flexi @ $229 (Wasn't this $207 last week) and Business at $435.00 (Norm $535)

The Business rate does seem to be a SALE fare as advertised on the main page but doesn't get a SALE tag on the booking form.

The Flexi seems to have increased in price about $20.

It may be a different booking class for the flexi than you were looking at previously.

The business rate may be booking into a discount class.

What dates are you looking at?

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

SYD-MEL was 24 July and MEL-SYD was 19 Sept.

The 'SALE' flag may not be there, but the business fares are discounted on the same dates as the economy sale fares, so I would think it is part of the same sale.

wouldnt suprise me if they started sneaking the flexible pricing up. Its been very popular and quite good value imo.

Thats right.

The normal saver SYD-MEL fare has been (Non Sale) around $100 - 145 ish. Considering a Bag will cost you $15 plus food snacks approx $10, the $209 seemed good value considering the extra SC and Velocity points.

From my review a few weeks out from 1-July, most short flights were up about $6.

I cant see the Flexi prices being moved up, there are still so few buyers.. Think my syd-bne today had 4 - maybe more popular on syd-mel?
Whilst occasionally good value for SCs (eg when $20 more than saver) the food is pretty average.
Also with the half price points upgrade going on July 1, and double SC promotion less benefit.

Also I don't see them as actually being that flexi.
Say on an empty flight a few weeks out (a common booking of mine recently)
Sale fare $110, Flexi $200
As it gets closer to the date fare rises to $435 (top shorthall fare), so there is still a massive fare difference to pay on the flexi.
Only worth it in the above example if you end up changing more than 75% of your flights.

we only use flex'ys on the way home. Mel-SYD there is a fair few i notice.

I'm seeing $165 for FLEXI MEL - NTL (& vv). Pretty good standard rate for 20 SC Ex Melbourne. (SAT 28 JULY )

Pity only 1 flight a day. return. Might be a good hop on to Brisbane if you need SC ex Melbourne.
