Evening Folks,

I usually travel into/out of CNS, BNE and OOL but I'm heading out of Sydney in a week and I have a quick question.

I'm flying OOL - SYD - WLG, First flight is VA Marketed and VA Metal, 2nd flight is VA Marketed and NZ Metal.

As VA Gold if I attend the NZ check in counter in SYD will they give me an express pass for Sydney?

We have no such thing as an Express path at OOL like the big ports do and I don't believe checkin at OOL carry any express passes.

Qantas carries express passes at regional centres for passengers with an international connection. Virgin may do the same.

I doubt that lining up at the check in counter in SYD to get an express pass will be worthwhile. The outbound immigration process is automated now and is quick for everyone. Security typically doesn't take too long, either.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Ask at OOL for an express card anyway. Last I flew NZ out from Syd they had express printed on the boarding pass (not a separate card) so you could get them to reprint your boarding pass (they reprinted mine in the lounge recently regardless) or run by the VA desk and ask as its a VA ticket. Also try asking at the VA bus transfer at gate 46 as may save you some hassle if available there.
