Does VA have foot stools in PE on 777? I'd like them in J HKT-PER, if so?

Hi All, Didn't want to cross thread sefrty's enquiry about best seat on 777. But do support Boof1's great question. I'd appreciate any experience or information regarding whether VA has foot stools (at all) in their fleet? For PE, or J?

My own experience in J - HKT-PER on 737-800 with out any foot rest ( or stool) was the big downside on this 6 hour+ flight.
This could possibly be easily rectified if VA have a swag of foot stools to deploy already?

Making modifications to seats will result in them having to be re certified, I cannot see that happening.

I think PJMiller means the portable foot stool/rest on the VA 777 in Premium - it's a light box which is placed as a foot rest after takeoff

Yes they do for row 10 PE. They are in the overhead locker.

The footrests are integral to the seats in PE on the 777, except for the front row (row 10), which are provided with a big foam ottoman once the seatbelt sign is off. In my opinion the ottomans would be completely impractical on the 737 because 8 ottomans would fill up 80% of overhead space in the J cabin.

My guess is that using a fancier, reclining style seat mechanism with a legrest built in would result in a dramatically heavier J seat which just wouldn't be worth it for domestic short haul J. And the reality is what is where the vast majority of VA flying is. Having a subfleet of international 737s would do nothing but breed inconsistency (of course they do it for Tasman and Pacific but that serves a huge number of destinations and is a big fleet in its own right).

In my fantasy world VA domestic J would look like VX F - that product is fantastic but I can see why they lose money. Big, comfortable (and heavy seats), heavy crockery etc.

Some blow up one's wouldn't take up much room!

Something like the front seat in Cathay's premium economy would be good for the 737's Cathay Pacific - new Premium Economy Class

A little foot cushion would be great on business class for all 737's which really do need a foot rest of some sort.

I'm with you on that one, bullerdude

The 6+_ hours in a 737-800 is the longest international short-haul VA does. At night mostly. and J- uncomfortable, for me and I'm about average height.
I think there is a low cost soultion out there for VA from the comments of others on this point. Could we put this matter on the list to VA?
