Hi, Have just started a trial subscription to EF and as far as I can see it won't let me search for award seats on TG, CX or SQ. Have I missed something?

I am trying to get 2 award business seats from BNE to LHR return at end of year and I have sufficient AMEX points to transfer to any of these programs but I don't want to make a transfer until I know what the availability is. I can search on the SQ site, but the TG site won't let me search unless I already have points with them.

Bob,

The list of supported Award searches is here : ExpertFlyer.com

Unfortunately doesn't include CX, SQ or TG

For Cathay, you can create an AsiaMiles account and you should be able to search away, not sure about the others - Someone else will have to chime in with any suggestions.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks Mal, I have created FF accts with CX, TG and SQ. TG is the only problem. Interestingly, when I use my AC aeroplan account to search for these flights it does show availability for BNE-LHR using TG. So I could assume that if I transfer my points to TG then I will also find seats are available - but...

I don't know of any way to transfer my Amex points to AC otherwise I would book that way. Do you know of any ways that don't severely devalue the points (e.g. via priority club 1000 amex pts turns into only 120 AC miles)

Cheers, Bob

Another possibility - I can transfer Amex pts to Air NZ, but they want $50 to join their FF program. Before I spend that, do you know if a search on the NZ site for award flights will show up other * alliance partners as does the AC site? Because Expert Flyer shows there is no availability with NZ.

Often they have promo codes for free membership. Have a look at http://www.australianfrequentflyer....oints/airpoints-use-code-join-free-29892.html

Can't really provide any advice re Airpoints. Don't belong, haven't looked at it closely. You should see the availability shared over the various Star Alliance partners, so really it should come down to which scheme provides the cheapest redemptions (vs the conversion rate from Amex).
