Hi all

Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to my preferred routing of DJ BNE-SYD B737 and SYD-PER A330?

It disappeared from the timetable sometime around the start of November and the DJ call centre are unable to explain

Given the BNE-PER 737 flight duration is 6 hours 20 minutes, it is much the same travel time to go via SYD and a much better J experience for a points upgrade :p

Cheers
Rob

Could be that the BNE-SYD flights that connect to an A330 flight are full, or the A330 flight is full? If you try booking BNE-SYD/SYD-PER you might be right, but then you end up using more points to upgrade.

Looking at random dates later this month, BNE-PER is via MEL on the A330.

Hmm. Interesting. Still showing as routes in EF, but no availability ... almost certainly meaning that they have been cancelled.

I thought the plan was that by now there would be BNE-PER A330 direct runs? Nothing materialised so far as I can tell with a few random date picks though.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Could it be the start of daylight saving in the more advanced states? :)

I know that DRW-PER-SYD-ADL was not available from the day daylight saving began.

Yes that was my initial thought, but the flight still existed until the end of October, three weeks after DST started in NSW. It's a shame that the spirit of competition is lacking on the BNE-PER route.

I had heard rumours from a friend in DJ that A330 service was to commence in September. Another friend who works in the GCC assures me that there is an A330 red eye and that he books people on it all the time. I think he may be a little confused

Looks like you will have to do 2 bookings, which is a real PITA if you have checked luggage

Hmm, I booked a BNE/PER in early Nov (for travel on 25th), but I really didn't recognise whether SYD showed as an option. I was happy to fly via MEL - longer in J on a Sunday for an upgraded cost of only 4,900 points :D

Robrad, having now flown the similar route BNE/MEL/PER, I have to agree with the A332 - there is no other way to fly !!
