Hello everone,

Is anyone else finding it difficult to source Business seats from Europe back into Brisbane?

Plenty of Economy but zero in Business.

Thanks

Wayne

Depends on the dates - peak periods and weekends will always be harder than mid-week. Europe and US to Australia Business reward seats are always in very high demand. Best availability is booking 330 (or so) days out, or last minute. Also depends on your status - anecdotally Platinum members would see much more than Bronze/Silver etc.

If you let us know your dates some members might play around and check for you.

I've secured Business seats Sydney to London 8th September 2018

Am wanting to return to Brisbane from Europe anytime from 5th October.

Only stipulation wife wants is to fly direct back into Brisbane and has to be Business Class. Also doesn't have to be the direct route. We'd happily stay a night somewhere on the way home.

I am a Qantas Club Bronze and have 450,000 points.

Any advice greatly appreciated as I've been tearing my hair out looking at Classic Rewards flights for weeks now thinking of every possible route home.

Thanks Wayne

You really need to be flexible on entry points. October is still school holidays in parts of Australia. If wanting to fly Emirates the award flights aren’t out for those dates. I book as soon as the flights are released - Qantas is much earlier than others. Usually just around a year out so much earlier than 330 days. Start plugging in some dates and you’ll work out when seats are released on both Qantas and Emirates. CX have very much different schedules. Kinda random in fact.

Try two legs one to HKG then to BNE, stay Regal at HKG airport try the fantastic CX lounges while there.

Yes , it always worth doing the searches for each leg separately as well.
If you are desperate try MH as well. I haven't flown them but they have availability around then and also via KUL with a BA/MH combo.
That'll mean another transfer in Oz though to get to BNE.

Even once you find some availability, you will then be slugged up to $1500 in surcharges per pax...

Has to be direct but happy to spend a night somewhere...may I suggest SYD or MEL....

Ah maybe this is why I don't have a wife...:D

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just wait slightly longer until the codeshares on EK aircraft are released. You should be able to get Business awards to BNE on QF8434 (EK434).

Cathay seem to have better availability most of the time - a little more expensive in points, but surcharges are usually quite reasonable.
