My Father has been in a Nursing Home since 2016 with Dementia. Today I tried to help transfer my fathers FF points (134,000) to my Mothers account. My Fathers last flight was in 2014 and since then the points have come from Woolworth and NAB Credit Card Points. Dad is still the Primary Card holder with Mum having a card. Have tried NAB before to change this and they said without a new application they can not and better off keeping the card in my Fathers name.

Tried to do the transfer on line for my Mother but lucked out during the verification process when text sent to my Fathers mobile number provided - his mobile was cancelled in 2016. There was another verification process with 3 out of four answers but lucked out on that as well as my mother had not updated personal details a few yeas ago for their change of address and I put in the new post code. Could not update personal details without a code sent to the mobile.

Has anyone else experienced this before and if so how did they deal with it. Wanted to ask the question before phoning QANTAS.

Do you have your fathers Power of Attorney?

However, you should be able to use QFF number, dob, and month/year joining QFF which is located on his card as the 3rd answer. If not you’d surely remember previous post code?

Yes have Mother has POA. Do remember the old postcode. Will give it another go tomorrow to see if still locked out as we now all the answers to the questions.

Have found his membership card which has joing date.

If still locked out will have the POA scanned and ready to send. Can alos provide "proof of life" if need be!

I think it only locks out for a while and not permanently.

And perhaps you sound like Dad anyway?

Thought of that - Dad is 85 and my voice does not sound that old. Mum is a Retirment Village and we discussed that we could get another male resident to do the call with all of the information.

If we can transfer the points will wait a few days before we phone and change the mobile number.

Our family do have our log ins and regularly fly on our points and miles. We have two ladies in their sixties and seventies who have gone downhill quickly with dementia and that is very tough for their partners.
Well done doing the recovery.

I manage the FF acounts for my family. Any transfer are easily done. I have all FF numbers and passwords (I set them up)
