On my last CX flight, during the opening spiel, the announcer only welcomed Marco Polo members and didn't mention oneworld frequent flyers.

as an oneworld emerald member I was outraged. How dare they not make me feel special.

It wasn't an accident they left it out because when they she repeated the announcement in Chinese there was no mention of oneworld either.

Ofcourse by this time I was livid and was throwing the inflight magazine at the bulkhead in protest.

I am joking I couldn't care less. But why would they change it?

Cox no longer welcoming OW flyers

Interesting it is my attraction to CX inter alia consistency of product delivery.

Anyone one else noticed this trend?

I think more importantly how were you treated pre and during the flight?

IMHO CX doesn't have a lot of respect for One World members regardless of status.

I have had a DKYWIA moment with CX due to non recognition of status benefits.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Always a pleasure to be on board CX. Have always received a OWE welcome/chat.

+1 - plus i have been offered a business class wine/champagne etc, and I have always been asked to complete a survey.

Mrsdrron normally gets upset on CX(and JAL) as she is the OWE but I usually get the welcome.

Yes me too. not only that Mrs.Lime and self were given a row of 4 Y seats CNS/HKG, then CFA came up and asked us if we would like a drink before take off, also, had 2 op ups to J, they sure impress us.

The OP may be in transit explaining his 2am posting.

Sprucegoose, what are you doing at 3:06am replying to the OP ?

AFF keeps you alive & restful ?

No one came and welcomed me or anything, which i don't mind.

Anyone else feel awkward when QF comes around and "welcome back, thank you for your loyalty and choosing to fly with us today" and the 2 other choice phrases all chained together. I always feel like deer in headlights coz I have no idea what to reply with. You're welcome?? or Thank you? Or sometimes i just smile.

Just respond with "I would come back more often if I was up the front" :D

I've had nothing but stellar on-board service with CX. Certainly as a rule even though I have flown QF a lot more, the CX service beats it hands down.

What I haven't had the opportunity to test yet is when things go wrong, QF handle this with aplomb and is one of the reasons why being QF WP is so valuable.

I like it, it makes me feel welcomed and appreciated pandering just enough to my DYKWIAness :)p) without going over the top. I just say thank you [for thanking and welcoming me] and smile.

I was surprised to see this thread come up. I remember reading extensive threads elsewhere on this forum about how well WPs were treated on CX and the high chances of an op-up.

I don't have any complaints about CX service or their honouring of OWE benefits, but I'm actually surprised to see so many people saying they received a personal OWE greeting or special treatment from the CSM! I've never received any special OWE recognition in my past 20 or so flights with CX, with all but four of those flights being in J or F. In my past few times in CX F, I don't think anyone in the cabin received a special greeting at all, and I suspect many in the cabin would have had OWE with MPC or other programme.

Not that I'm too worried, since such greetings can a bit embarrassing if there are others in the immediate vicinity! :)

I'm a WP/Emerald. I have had zero upgrades with QF, and one very welcome one with CX. The only personalised greeting I really want is "Mr PLC, you have been upgraded."

I've taken 28 flights with CX in the past year.
The few times that the CSM greetings may have been less than effusive were, strangely enough, in PE.

Last night I did observe no mention of OW on CX137 HKG-PER and now I see for the first time this thread.

Customer manager did introduce herself to everyone in J class, but no mention of OW or my status.

I think OW were welcome on my earlier flight from Sapporo. The crew on this flight working the upstairs section did know my status.
