Current F Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

No !

While most sparking wines made in the defined Champagne region can be called "Champagne", there are many differing flavors that can affect an individual's palate in different ways.
For you and a few others. If you can tell the difference blindfolded then you are a genius.

I think I had 5-6 glasses of Krug on Thai recently. In my opinion it's the same as any other champagne and you pay for the label.

It will be a while before my next F lounge visit. The label won't matter to me. I'll have half a glass of the pink and half a glass of one of the other bottles.

Ironically I just walked up to the F lounge bar in SYD asking for a glass of Tattinger before reading this thread. The barman opened a new bottle but I didn't actually notice the label so I assume I'm currently drinking a Tattinger.

Edit: just checked a menu and Tattinger still available in SYD

Using up stocks?

Well it's still on the menus I am looking at so maybe just isolated to MEL. I'll just have 2 glasses to preserve stock for those following in subsequent days hehe and for myself in 8 days when I'm back.

Indeed it is. They were unaware of it being dropped in MEL.

I highly value the changing menu. But there are occasions you are short on time or (as in my case last week) just too tired to bother looking at a menu. So it's nice to be able to just ask for an old favourite before you even sit down.

And for once I agreed with the Neil Perry blurb. The bacon is indeed quite fantastic.

So sad next trip is via Brisbane so no lounge :(
Isn't there a QF or EK lounge in BNE? And from memory both have some type of sparkling wine.

P.S. In my opinion the food in the BNE EK lounge is as good as if not better than the food in the SYD F lounge. It all depends on what food you enjoy eating. Shame we have a morning flight from BNE next week.

Thanks for the heads up @JohnK
The EK lounge, 1) has to be open, & 2) allow you entry (they have a history of trying to direct QF PAX to QF's offerings).

Given the current schedules have two daily Emirates flights departing at 8:45PM and 10:25PM, with 1) realistically, your flight needs to be departing no earlier than 7pm & good luck with 2).

Sounds like you need to fly SQ in F and do a side by side taste test of Krug & Dom. Very different flavours - which is why it is good they offer both so people can choose the bubbles they prefer.

Yes, and can save quite a wait to give your order straight away. At busy times it can take a while before orders are taken otherwise.

We’ve been on the Perrier-Jouet as our favourite for the past couple of years, but it’s nice to have options - and this morning they were out of the PJ. So it was a Pommery breakfast.

PS - I love the BLT sandwich.

In the MEL lounge. Tattinger is off the menu but the Perrier-Jouët is fine by me!
