I thought I would post a quick review of my stay at Crown Towers Perth back in December 2017. I booked a base level room earlier in the year through Qantas Hotels when they had a 6 points per $1 promotion. Considering we arrived on Boxing Day, I was quite happy that I managed to grab a $300 per night rate (although it was not refundable or changeable).

The room

The hard product is quite good here. The hotel is only about 12 months, so the room still felt quite fresh. They had a tablet that you could use to control the lights etc but it wasn't working properly so we needed to get another one brought to the room.

The beds and linen were nice and comfy. The pillows were a bit thick for my liking.

The bathroom was big. Lots of bathroom amenities including toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving kit etc that the Gentleman raided.

There was also a desk, desk chair as well as an arm chair with a footrest.

The room had a standard bar fridge, tea, coffee and an espresso machine. A few bottles of bottled water were also provided everyday.

The food

We enjoyed dinner at the sashimi bar at Nobu one night. Interestingly I think their serves are small in Perth as we ordered almost exactly the same dishes as in Melbourne only a few weeks earlier so had a recent comparison. You can charge the meal to your room which is handy.

The food

Breakfast at Crown Towers is in the Epicurean and cost $42 per adult. There is a very large offering available and everything we had was enjoyable. We were usually there just after it opened so it wasn't very busy. Regardless, service was mixed - some staff were very helpful and available, others less so (eg they would walk around without looking at guests at all, one waiter told the Gentleman that they didn't serve porridge even though he had ordered it the day before).

A long row of hot food - traditional western such as eggs, sausages, bacon as well as Asian options - Japanese miso soup, fish and rice, Chinese congee, stir fries, noodles and dim sum and Indian curries and breads.

The facilities

It was warm enough in the afternoon to try and enjoy the pool facilities. Unfortunately there appears to be some very poor design as the pool was sitting right in a wind tunnel. It was super windy and generally unpleasant and was also that way on the 2 occasions we visited the pool.

Overall

We enjoyed the hard product and the rooms are definitely nice than at Crown Metropol. The service however, seemed lacking and disinterested for a premium hotel. If I could get a $300 a night taste, I would probably book here again but otherwise consider elsewhere.

The valet parking for our recent lunch at Epicurean was $55. Our lunch was pretty good.

I like the property, even if it is over the river. There are rates that give you Breakfast and Club Access for free (and it's a great club lounge). But you won't get them through the aggregators of QF. PM me if you'd like to use it.

Thanks, I might just do that if we head back there.

I heard that they had closed off several floors due to lack of demand. Is that still the case?

It seemed quite busy when I was there but we only went to our floor, so I don't know. We arrived on Boxing Day and I got the impression there were a lot of locals doing a Christmas/New Year staycation.

Crown (and once Burswood) has a long history of offering good deals for these local staycationers.

The crystal club is worth getting as well. They offer drinks and canapes every day for an hour and a half between 5.30pm and 7pm which is enough to have about 4 coughtails. They also have a breakfast in the morning which has a great selection of food and also afternoon tea.
Managed to get the crystal club included in a package when I ordered directly from crown which also include a $50 credit for the pool bar, valet parking and a gift which was just some slippers and scented candles.
It cost about $500 for the package back in April and we got a delux room with a king bed and a nice river view.

Thanks for posting. Have been considering this for a while now and will likely check it out soon.
