For quite a few years I have been crediting miles and SCs from FJ flights to my QFF account. My QFF number is usually included in the booking (the FJ website has a place for doing this), and flights have usually been credited automatically (albeit quite some time later) or on same occasions, when my patience runs out, soon after I have submitted an online missing points claim.
I had some recent FJ flights that didn't credit automatically, so I put in the online claim, but there was nothing credited even after the 28 working day timeframe had expired, so I emailed QFF, and the reply stated that QFF was not able to access confidential passenger information from this other carrier, and so if I wanted these flights credited I would have to provide copies of tickets and boarding passes. Fortunately I was still able to do this, and within a few days the points and SCs were credited (to some relief, as that just got me over the line to re-qualify Platinum) so all is well.
But it is a completely new procedure to have to submit this documentation for FJ flights, even when QFF number is registered in the e-ticket, and I don't think I have seen any information anywhere about how or why this change to long-standing procedure has come about. These are the only flights I have taken since FJ was re-launched as Fiji Airways...is that just a coincidence, or signaling perhaps some kind of distancing in the relationship between FJ and QF?
