Hello all,

I'm considering an upcoming booking for a trip to the US with QF (paid, not points).

Is it possible to have the outbound leg (MEL-LAX-JFK) credited to QFF and the return (JFK-LAX-MEL) credited to my AA account? Not double-dipping, just splitting the SC/points into two.

Thanks in advance!

Sure. Once you get to JFK change the FF# in the booking and the return sectors should credit to AA.

Apologies for digging up an old thread. Just wondering if this can only be done in the lounge?

I'm thinking of combining a JAL Explorer Pass to a QF booking. The Explorer Pass for Japan domestic leg is booked in G so I assume it earns nothing based on QF's site under JAL domestic, however, my understanding is it should still credit 100% to JAL. Can I have my QF flights credit to QF and the JAL flights to JAL?

I'm thinking the easiest way is to leave my FF number out of the booking and claim each flight when I get back but then can I access the lounge just by presenting my boarding pass and QFF card? I've read that you will need your FF number with status linked in order to get into the lounge? In that case do I get them to put in my JMB number when I'm in the lounge before I board for Japan, fly the domestic sectors and then put my QFF number back when I check-in in Japan on the return?

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

The AY site is handy for changing FF details for airlines on the Amadeus system. I used it in my first year of BA when I wanted to use QF status for seat selection, upgrades etc, and would use the MMB function on the AY site to change to my BA number shortly before take off. Then I would change back to QF for the next leg.

Just be aware that on one occasion I switched numbers after a flight and was just a bit too quick!

Yes, this is easiest and the most reliable.

You only need the card to enter a lounge - although if you're in biz/first class, you could enter by virtue of cabin and therefore you won't need your status.

Thanks both for the prompt response! Should have elaborated I'm traveling in Y and recently made QF Gold which is how I'm going to access the lounge.

I think I'll take the easy route and leave my number off the booking. If I can't get into the lounge without my QFF number linked, at least there's plenty of other options with the Amex Charge card leaving from Melbourne now and I'm not fussed about the lounge for the domestic JAL flights.

Thanks again.
