Hello All

I booked a flight on American Airlines and they gave me a record locator number. Does anyone know where I can convert an American Airlines locator number to a reservation number? I know that checkmytrip can go the other way but I can't find anywhere that tells me what the reservation number is.

Thanks

The AA locator or PNR number is generated by the Sabre GDS.

Checkmytrip works off the Amadeus GDS and will only have a reference to your booking if there are flights on "amadeus" carriers in the booking.

If you have any segments in the booking using carrier that employ Amadeus (e.g. QF/BA/LA) you can call that carrier armed with your details (name, flight numbers, dates, times etc) and request they provide it.

If you have any Amadeus carriers in your itinerary, ba.com will be able to pull up your itinerary with the Sabre record locator and tell you what the Amadeus record locator is (which you can then use on checkmytrip). I've only tried this when there were BA flights in my itinerary though.

In any case your itinerary should be viewable on AA.com with the Sabre record locator.
