Hello
Our flight on EY gets into LHR at 12.05pm. We then need to book onto the BA flight to Faro. This will leave from LGW at 15-30pm (latest flight there is)

Is this enough time, bearing in mind we will have to check in at LGW on arrival?

IT's been 12 years since I lived in The UK and I cant imagine that the M25 traffic has improved in that time.:( The upside is we arrive on a Sunday, so traffic may not be too bad, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has done the journey recently

It's been a while since we've done it but we used to allow 90 minutes for the transfer (usually takes 50-70mins depending on TOD). So if you allow 3.25 hrs between flights you should be fine, providing first flight is not delayed. Checking and clearance at LGW days is quite good. I know people who've pushed the limit and done it in 90 mins but that's madness.:)

There's a LHR-LGW shuttle bus or plenty of car and limo services. GIYF.

They do recommend at least 3 hours and longer at certain times. We recently did it the other way LGW-LHR and allowed 4 hours. They then pushed our flight back another 90 minutes and Murphy's Law came into play. We did it in 65 minutes and therefore had a 4.5 hour wait for our connection. Used a hire car rather than the coach only because I was worried they might not have taken our luggage and had the M25 almost to ourselves

Is your EY-BA connection all on the one ticket? If the EY flight is delayed and you don't get to LGW in time BA is not obliged to reaccommodate you if you are on a separate tickets, especially as EY is not a oneworld member.

I find LGW slow for passport control, so I would be reluctant to do this connection on separate tickets unless flying in business or I had a UK or EU passport.

Would be separate tickets. We've both got UK passports....

Time wise you should be fine, with British passports you might beat your bags out. Danger is if your connection runs late, for instance if EY holds up AUH-LGW so that the other Australia-auh flights connect. On the other hand, BA flights to Faro are often cheap, so risking it may better value than a night in a airport hotel.
